    Thoughts?

I need all the confidence I can get to finish this, and that means knowing all of you won't make it a waste of my time and talents. So here is a sneak peek! let me know if I should keep going or not. Feel free to add any feedback in the comments too, I could always use some.

    Here's the Deal

As cute as Daring Don't was, Im not gonna consider it cannon in my upcoming story. Ive been working on it too long to have it all go out the window now.

So... hope you all like it anyway, even if it isnt shipping Daring and Dash.

I do like how they basically used the personality I developee for her. Though mine is more deep rooted and hindering than the quick fix of the show.

    ...

Coleridge was a drug addict. Poe was an alcoholic. Marlowe was killed by a man whom he was treacherously trying to stab. Pope took money to keep a woman's name out of a satire then wrote a piece so that she could still be recognized anyhow. Chatterton killed himself. Byron was accused of incest. Do you still want to a writer - and if so, why?

The Sacrifices of Passion and Pursuit

You ever freverently sought a goal so passionately that you become self obsessed? You turn into a raving loon and soon all your friends dump you. It happened to Poe and even Hemmingway.

Unlike them, however, my passion hasnt paid off. I invested too much and sacrificed too much. The price was greater than the payoff and now I have nothing to show on both ends.

A Missive To All My "Fans" · 6:55am Apr 14th, 2012

I've tried and failed to get in on Equestria Daily so many times that it's no longer amusing to me. I destroy every story I touch, can't finish anything, and become intimidated by the awesome works of others to the point everything I do is wrong, crap, or both. It hurts and I can't take it anymore.

But rather than throw in the towel, I'm asking you, my fans, followers, and friends, to provide me with some constructive criticism. I'm tired of all the comments that only tell me to "Write more" or "I'm tracking this!" I want helpful input so I can make this baby shine! Be as honest, mean, and brutal as you can! I want this baby to shine so much it blinds those snooty Canterlot pre-readers!

All I'm asking is for some feedback, no matter how mean or nice it may be. I want to improve, but what I'm getting isn't helping. I want to know how this looks from the outside.

Thank you all for your time. Here is the story in question: It's All In Your Head

I will not continue this any further until I get feedback, as I don't want to keep making the same mistakes. Once again, thank you for your time.

well first let me apologize for the grammar, am from mexico so my english its not quite great.
Now before i start i want to thank you for one little thing, you were the first autor i read in this site and the first fic i read and because of that i started with this mmm fic-reading addiction if you want, and am 28 and i love reading, i read a lot of books, and what i read from you was incredible good, am not lying or trying to be condescendent with you, i stared traking your work, and yes i most say that as the time pased by, you started to lose your touch, you started to lose focus, and i think i know why. You forget what were you doing, you forget that you started writing for you, because you wanted to tell a story, and you forget to have fun in the process.
i belive that you lose confidence in yourself.
once you started having people traking your work you stop writing for you, and started working for us, and that my friend was your mistake, its not about us, its about you, you are the one with the story in your head, of you like it, am 100% sure we are going to like to, but that is up to us man, you can't try to make everybody happy, thats why this page exist in first place, to give a forum for the writer we all have inside us.
As far as i began reading your blogs, i see how everytime you were more lost in the context, sometimes you even started to been kinda rude to us, and you started to fell less capable than other writers out there, and you know what? ALWAYS its gona be someone better than you, but thats not the point man, its about doing something you like, being a brony its about loving this movement, sub-culture i dont know how you wanna call it, but the point is my friend, that you have to stop caring su much about what we think, and i dont mean that you give a shit about our opinions (lol)
but you need balance in the process. so to summarize:
star enjoying again the time you spend writing, grab pen and paper and write every little idea you come to mind, every felling you have, then take your time to write, but have fun in the process write it, read it, enjoy it, then and only then, put it here, and let us enjoy what you did, of course you will have positive and negative responses, but once again, you are not here to make everybody happy, but to be happy yourself, dont try to make the perfect story, thats imposible, but try to make your story, something that only PONYMAN could do, and then ill be there to read it, as the other hundreds of fans that are following you.
i hope that this helps you a bit.
(and forget equestrian daily for know, they have very weird standars, i've read a lot of bad fic in there, so its dont fell bad about it)
best of lucks
Eduardo.

I'd have to agree with 70166 100%. You need to write what makes you happy, and then you share what made you happy to us. The first fic that I've read of yours was "the back room" and I whole heartily enjoyed it. Then I read "Parchment" and laugh my plot off because it reminded me of cupcakes. But you know what, others noticed too because Pachments became part of the fic "Mystery Pinkie Pie theater 3000" series. I see and feel that when other authors user's or inspire by ones work to write their own spin off/series base off of another's work is the greatest compliment one can achieve. Also EQD has been raising the standards for their fic collection so don't worry about them for right now, but concintrait on the here and now.

I can't give you any constructive criticism but, the two above are right. Being a writer is hard. People who write fan-fics says that you should always write for the audience but, that doesn't make an amazing story. Writing a story should be YOUR story don't just follow what your readers say but, follow what you think the story should flow like. Don't be down if you don't get recognized or get into equestrian daily. Continue writing and I'm sure that one day you will get into equestrian daily and who knows maybe even your own book. Never give up many writers went through your hardship but, only the few great ones were able to overcome it.
