You may have noticed that I haven't done anything in a while.

Also known as: I'm still alive, guys.

If you're wondering about the near-complete lack of activity, my university schedule has been absolutely nuts, more so now that I'm halfway through midterm season. Between German homework, fencing practice, studying and lab reports, I've barely had time for video games, let alone writing.

I'm sure you were expecting something like this, and those of you that know me aren't surprised in the slightest. But I thought I'd let you know anyway, because I'm that kind of guy.

Now, since I've gotten everyone's attention (hopefully), I thought I'd ask something.

I'm toying with an idea. I may or may not have mentioned it before, but to write it effectively, I'm going to need a fair amount of knowledge on the technical aspects associated with both fiddle and cello, as well as some general technical information for string instruments. So I'm calling on you, my noble followers, to let me know if you have experience on some kind of string instrument, preferably the two listed above. I suppose I could make do with a violinist instead of a fiddlist, as long as said violinist knows the technical and stylistic differences between the two.

If you fulfill these requirements, I'd be much obliged if you could let me know, and then put up with me picking your brain extensively.
