My Top 10 Favorite Cartoons · 9:29pm Sep 27th, 2013

I've mentioned before that I'm not a brony, but I do like the main characters a lot. But if I'm not a huge fan of the show, how come I keep turning out with a bunch of great stories you all seem to love? What exactly influenced me to write these kinds of stories? Well, I'll tell you in my Top 10 Favorite cartoons!

10. Ren and Stimpy – Gross-Out humor easily at its best. I should point out that I love wild, crazy and weird animation. Ren and Stimpy has great, creative animation when it’s just standard animation and when it gets gross. Now in other kids cartoons, this may look disgusting. But in something like this, it’s passable because both kids and adults watch this. I will point out that the first two seasons were perfect, the later seasons weren’t as good. But what this show got right, they really got it right.

9. Beauty and the Beast – How can anyone go wrong with this movie? I feel there’s nothing wrong with it. The characters are all memorable, the songs are fun and catchy and the animation is beautiful and gorgeous to look at. I should also point out that Beauty and the Beast is my favorite Disney song, easily Disney’s best love song. What else can I say about this movie? It gets better and better as I grow older, which why I also think that this is a ‘Tale as Old as Time’.

8. The Iron Giant – An underrated masterpiece. Everything in this movie I love. I love the characters; they’re so great, funny and memorable. I love the animation, which is so amazing to look at. The score is so freaking awesome, my favorite score next to…well, another cartoon we’ll talk about later. So, bottom line, anyone who hasn’t seen this movie, try and find it immediately, I’m sure it’s on DVD somewhere, you won’t regret it.

7. Looney Tunes – I should emphasize on which Looney Tunes cartoons I like, I would have to say the Chuck Jones cartoons are my favorite kind of Looney Tunes. I often draw a lot, and Chuck Jones is one of my inspirations for that. He knew how to animate and draw great slapstick and expressions on characters. And these characters like Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck are so timeless and unforgettable. If you're wondering what I think of The Looney Tunes Show, the first season was mediocore, but the second season is where it got really funny, and I'd pick Kristen Wiig as Lola Bunny over Kath Soucie anyday.

6. The Simpsons – I will say, this is one of the cartoons I watch the least, mainly because the current episodes aren’t as good as the original (Though the movie is awesome and the upcoming Simpsons/Family Guy crossover has my attention), but the original Simpsons are pure gold. The episodes and humor of this show is so spot-on and clever, the characters are all funny and memorable, there’s even a few touching scenes in this show. What else can I say but, The Simpsons.

5. Winnie the Pooh – One of the problems I have with MLP: FIM is that while the characters are good, sometimes the stories fall a little flat. Now if there's a cartoon that mastered those two things perfectly, it's Winnie the Pooh. How can anyone dislike this cartoon? These characters are just so fun and interesting as well as the stories they get into are really creative, sweet, heartwearming and sometimes really humorous! Overall, Winnie the Pooh is an adorable cartoon and by far, one of my favorites.

4. Aladdin - Whenever I think of this movie, I just instantly scream in my head "Aw, HECK YEAH!!!" Aladdin is by far one of Disney's best works and something I always have time to watch. It has beautiful and colorful animation, thrilling and suspenseful adventure, incredibly catchy songs, unforgettable characters, clever and witty humor and great voice acting (Mostly from Robin Williams and Gilbert Gottfried!) What else can I say except "Aw, HECK YEAH!!!"

3. Any PIXAR work - How can anyone go wrong with Pixar (Okay, excpet Cars 2 and Brave)? Anything by Pixar is always something to check out. With great characters, funny humor and great humor in any of their films. Any film of their's really goes to infinity and beyond.

2. SpongeBob Squarepants - A lot of you probably knew this was coming, seeing how I previously did a rant on the new seasons while praising the original three, so I'm not gonna say much.

And my number one favorite cartoon is...

1. The Lion King - Yep, this is my number one favorite! Where do I begin on how much I love this movie. It has everything Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin had, but it's done at its best. Everything in here is superior, its songs, its characters, its humor and its animation, it's HUGE! This cartoon I think is what connects everything to the Circle of Life.

10. Ren & Stimpy is retro and was awesome. In my opinion Ren & Stimpy surpasses Beavis & Butthead on MTV. :pinkiehappy:

9. Beauty & The Beast, what can I say but classic, purely romantic, beautiful music and songs, and all around epic Disney film. :twilightblush:

8. The Iron Giant, I remember watching this, and coming to tears at the very end when the Giant had to say goodbye to his friend. :fluttercry: That music when he blasted off, that was powerful.:pinkiesad2:

7. Elmer Fudd kicks ass (excuse my language). I put him above Yosemite Sam, because I just love the way he talks or his dialogue. Also, Bugs always tricking him into shooting Daffy at the end of their epic Duck Season, Rabbit Season argument always will be my favorite moments in Looney Tunes History.:rainbowlaugh:

6.. The Simpsons, I love and Homer is my favorite Simpson! Nothing else needs to be said. :twilightblush:

5. Winnie the Pooh. Wow! it has been a long time since I seen this, but my favorite episode has to be the one where Winnie gets stuck in the tree. Classic episode and the intro song, I love. :pinkiehappy:

4. Aladdin, all that needs to be said is that another epic and lifetime Disney film that will always be one of my favorites. Also, if they ever did a remake somehow, they better get Robin Williams to voice Genie, because no one can do Genie better than Robin Williams. :pinkiehappy:

3. PIXAR, simply awesome! :rainbowkiss:

2. SpongeBob Squarepants, very strong and very good with it's first three seasons and along with it's first feature length film, but lately it has gone downhill, in my opinion. :fluttershysad:

1. The Lion King, all I have to say is my all time favorite Disney movie, bar none. :pinkiehappy:

10. Ren and Stimpy: An excellent darker then normal cartoon. Ren's german accent really compliments his insanity.

9. Beauty and The Beast: Seen some of it and it's very impressive. The romance is the best aspect.

8. The Iron Gaint: Great movie with a very heartbreaking ending.

7. Looney Tunes: You can't go wrong with classics like those.

6. The Simpsons: Well The Movie and the season following it was the last hurrah for the show. Now it's grown stale and I wish it would just end already.

5. Winnie the Pooh: Ah childhood, such fond memories. Fun fact: Until recently Eeyore was voiced by Peter Cullen, a.k.a Optimus Prime from Transformers G1.

4. Aladdin: Another modern Disney classic, one of the last great Disney Princess films.

3. Pixar: For a long time these guys were great, but recently they've started to lose their touch with films like Brave.

2. Spongebob Squarepants: The movie should've been the end of it, the newer seasons have been an insult to the show.

1. The Lion KIng: Best Disney movie ever!
