Why I haven't written in a while, part two.

There are any number of culprits I could blame for not having written anything of late (aside from the barely-up-to-FIMFiction-standards 'In Which A Pony Gets Diabetes'). I could blame online roleplaying, webcomics, a lack of inspiration, issues with my RL energy, The Binding of Isaac, and so on and so forth. But instead I'm going to blame a number.

    Argh my Internet.

So it turns out sucking down the entirety of "Friendship is Magic" in 720p maaaaay have done bad things to my Internet quota. And now my bandwidth is so restricted I can't upload anything to Youtube.

    :applecry:

Sorry about this, folks. I'll let you know when the thing is up.

    The project is complete!

I'll be officially unveiling what I've done Tuesday evening, as I want to show the results to some friends of mine first, but I suppose it won't hurt to give you just a little taste...

The state of the union, 20120506 edition.

I've worked on the bonus chapter for The Monster Mash a bit; got one scene in the can and a general outline for most of the chapter. My creative energies have been somewhat diverted by another project, though. I wasn't sure I'd be able to complete it for a bit, but I think I have enough material to work with; it's just a matter of keeping on until I get done. I'll be sure to let you

Can't we just use the "read it later button" to track stories?

Two shots to you sir! :rainbowlaugh:

Yes, but there's no convenient way to see if those stories have updated. You can't get email notification, you can't sort the list by most recent update, and there isn't even a numeric indicator of unread chapters like Favorites have. They actually took out links to the individual pages of the list (leaving only 'next' and 'previous' buttons) not hours after I'd commented that I could at least open those pages in individual tabs and visually scan for the 'unread chapter' icon! All in all, I think that, by merging favorites and watches, the site owners have eliminated the best aspects of both—but they're within their rights to do so, and I'm trying to do something positive (i.e. provide more than a clicked 'I like this' button) instead of cursing the darkness any longer.

64825 Hmm, all good points. If I say that you are totally right and that I will throw my full weight behind you and your arguments, will you put Daylight Burning on your favorites blog post? No, don't answer that. I think we both know the answer *wink*.

Seriously, though, I do miss the track/favorites thing. It sort of waters it down when you get favorited, since you're never sure if they like or love your story, and everypony knows there's a big difference. If they would just improve the functionality of the "read it later button," then there wouldn't be any problem. But give them time, things around here change faster than Rarity's mood swings.

Funnily enough, I realized I'd left dozens of stories off my list, and I'm working on a new blog post. 'Daylight Burning' will be in it.
