Update, but mostly a Test

Ghosts of the Past 11 is out, though you can all see that in your favorites list so I probably don't need to tell you.

Mostly, this blog post is a little teaser of the next chapter, along with a 'display test' because I needed a full FimFiction controls bar to play with. As a result, you all get to see a little snippet of the next chapter here (though I don't pretend it's the most gripping piece on its own).

Ghayth slowly spread his hooves across the rough rug cast over the floor of his tent. He lowered himself to his belly, took a deep breath, and focused his thoughts on the eastern horizon.

When a hoof collided heavily with one of the wooden pillars holding up the tent, he sighed. It wasn’t until the other guest in his tent spoke that Ghayth recognized he was still the only camel in the room.

“حسن الضيافة” croaked the parched throat of the Commander, as he struggled to support himself on the camel’s wooden beam. “Please.”

“{{Come. Sit.}}”

“I don’t... speak Camel,” the pegasus responded.

Ghayth seemed amused. “Yet you know how to speak of hospitality? I offered you to come and sit by my side, friend. Give me a moment to pray, and then we can speak further.”

This is a sample of how I write in Google Docs when I'm doing a chapter. I use <<demarkation like this>> to indicate to Keyesty that I would like a phrase translated into Russian, so {{curly braces like this}} seemed as good a mark as anything for my friend who does Arabic.

I try to never actually translate things myself, but in this case, I needed a piece of sample text, regardless of length, for my formatting test for Arabic. The word above is supposedly 'hospitality', though I've got no clue if that's a good translation or not. I have an 'irl' friend who can do Arabic for me, but I doubt it will be showing up as much as Russian.

Before you all freak out, the odds of me actually using Arabic at all are fairly low; I'm just trying a little experiment to see if it even could work. My goal here isn't to swamp you all with new languages, but to add some verisimilitude to the world. So if you have huge opinions one way or another on this topic, go ahead and shoot them my way in the comments below.

Anyway, Arabic is written right-to-left, and thus displayed 'left-aligned' This obviously creates a conundrum for me, as Arabic and English inline with one another don't generally play nicely. The rest of this post is basically just going to be my experiments.
