I have an idea for a new story and I just want to see what everypony thinks of it. I only have a few paragraphs, but I think it's enough to see if you might like it or not.
The Endless Day of Night
“I’m not going to fight you, brother!”
“Oh, what a coincidence, because I can!”
The Night Guard thrust his blade deep into his brother’s chest, snuffing out the fire that once burned like Celestia’s sun. The battle raged around the pegasi, Celestia’s Day Guards were battling the merciless Night Guards under Nightmare Moon’s command. Lightning crashed overhead as the yellow form of Celestia met the black form of Nightmare Moon. The two alicorns had been battling each other for weeks. Celestia’s guard, Golden Shield, lay broken and defeated on the grassy hill just outside Canterlot Castle.
“Brother.... Why did you join her...?”
“It’s because I couldn’t stand you. Nightmare Moon promised me glory. She promised us all glory! We will rule with an iron hoof!” The Night Guard punctuated his last statement by stomping his hoof. He was looking down at his brother, who was slowly bleeding out in front of him.
“But we loved you, brother... Silver Shield, why did you betray us?”
The gray pegasus glared down at his brother and grinned.
“Because I couldn’t stand any of you. I did this so I could kill you all.”
The white pegasus glared at his brother and the darkness overtook him.
