Write what you know; write what you feel. Give life to that which lacks it, and mend the heart of they who need it most. Love, laugh, and cry. Never be afraid to be yourself. This is me.

    Prereader needed!!!

As you all know, I do all of my own editing for my stories, but I was thinking that it would help to have a second -- or third -- pair of eyes to point out to me if/when I'm missing things, or if things don't seem to make sense. Because of this, I would like to extend an offer to readers/writers who will give an honest critique, and will be able to point out issues with spelling or grammar. I

I see a lot of potential for this universe I've accidentally created during my writing, and I wish to invite any and all writers to add to it as they wish to. More info in the group, so check it out if you're interested.

Long Post is Long (but informative and possibly important) · 2:36am Aug 21st, 2013

I've recieved an assload of emails from all of you, my readers, asking a great number of questions. While I appreciate the love, you all have to understand the fact that with both a full-time job and college, I can often let quite a few slip through the cracks. So, I've decided to make a mass blog regarding things.

The way this will work is that I'll answer a few of the more popular questions that I can remember, and then the comments will be open for any of my readers to ask further questions. As a writer, I believe that in order to truly enjoy a story, it must be fully understood, so if there's anything you don't get, ask about it. The only questions I won't answer are questions pertaining to spoilers, so have at it.

Now, the first and most common question I recieve is my inspirations, so I'll start there for each story:

"Rise of the Elements" saga -- This was the very first story I wrote, and to be honest, it just kind of came to me after work one day. From there, I pumped out four chapters in less than two days. After that, the story took on a life of its own as my skills improved.

"The Demon's Angel" -- For those of you that can't tell, I do have my favorite characters, generally the ones that seem one-dimensional in canon, or not a lot about them is known. Rainbow Dash, Princess Luna, Princess Celestia, and pretty much any background pony is interesting for me to write, and with the rainbow-maned wonder being my pony-boner for the week I started writing the story, I came up with the idea while watching "What Dreams May Come". Great fuckin' movie, so if you've never seen it, you should.

"Molded to Love" -- I've always liked Chrysalis as a character, simply because so little of her personality is revealed. Anyone who has ever taken a psychology course in school will tell you that no one just acts the way she does without reason, and usually intense loss can cause a turnaround in life. As most of you can tell, I like to write stories about the "bad guys", simply because where a child's mind can only see evil, I see many things other than a simple black and white. I aimed this to be my first fic that showed how the past can affect who we are, and that "good and evil" are mere matters of perspective.

"Morning Star" -- Fluttershy is simply irresistable in so many ways. She's undoubtedly one of the most adorable main protagonists of the canon stories, and even in the fanon, she's become even more lovable. For the longest time I wanted to do a love story between Fluttershy and another, but I wanted to avoid the cliche Fluttershy fic: a lot of awkward blushing and stuttering, a lot of drama, and a very "flat" characterization for Fluttershy as a whole. With this being the case, I sought to add to the fanfic base what it was lacking.

"Shadows of Dusk" -- I had wanted to do a humanized fic for awhile, but hadn't been able to choose that which I thought would make a good one. So, I waited. Suddenly, I had a stroke of inspiration when writing "Molded to Love", and decided to make Nightmare Moon its own entity. Like with many of my newer stories, I looked at the fandom as a whole and asked myself what I thought was lacking. So, I made something unique in the process.

"Breaking the Wall", "The Princess' Lament", and "Twilight's Song" -- Saw/listened to the art/song mentioned in the summary, and wrote stories off of them. 'Nuff said.

"To Live this Life" -- Not many stories focus on the darker side of immortality. Instead, many stories glorify it. I sought to change this vision, by showing that while it's true that living for an extended length of time can be a blessing, it can also be a curse.

"Legend" -- I had written two HiE fics previous, and saw room to improve. So, I wrote a new one and sought to change the face of HiE in general. With the romance tag being in place, the reader knows that at some point the main protagonist is going to fall in love with someone, but who that will be remains a mystery, and Jamie's own personal issues currently stand in his way. This is a different direction taken than the common, "Human is perfectly okay with falling in love with a pony and doesn't see anything wrong with it." Yes, I realize two of my stories tend to take that direction, which is why I decided to write something different in the first place.

"Flutter By" -- I see so few first-person Fluttershy fics out there, and even fewer that don't end up as a "dark", "tradgedy", or "sad" tag actually isolate her from her friends. I aimed to change that by writing this story.

"Acoustic Resonance" -- While I have been and will be including Vinyl in fics past and future, she had yet to have one of her own. The personality that the fandom generally portrays her as was rather one-dimensional, so I built off of it to develop a much deeper character. When I finished, I realized she very much resembled someone close to my heart...hence the dedication.

"The Most Important Moments" -- For those that asked, yes...it is a personal experience I am actively going through. For those that haven't...well, there you go.

Now, with that main question out of the way, we move to the next: "Are your other stories finished or cancelled?"

Unless I mark a story as "complete" or "cancelled", it is not so. Unlike many writers out there, I don't see the reason to cancel a story simply because I can't currently think of anything worthwhile to put into it, because I know at some point, I will get struck with inspiration. That being said, with work and college becoming increasingly more demanding, I am unsure exactly how often I will be able to update. So please, be patient. Quality takes time.

Now, as I said at the beginning of all this, the comments are open for questions regarding stories. Anything you didn't quite understand when it was mentioned, please bring it up and I'll answer you. If it's something that hasn't been properly addressed yet in the story itself, but will be done so later on, I will say so.

With that said, bring on the questions...I've got a bottle of rum and cookie-dough ice cream, so I'm ready for you.

God, I've been away from your stories for too long. I'm not getting any updates from you so I had no idea that you had written more stories. :applecry:

I can't wait to check them out!

WOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Can't actually wait for more stories!
Hope your inspiration NEVER runs out!

Also... Do ya... have an advice for any up-coming and young authors who want to do well on FiM-Fiction?

1298467 Be a grammar/spelling Nazi for your own work. Also, don't make the mistake of trying to cater the layout and flow of your story to be like like the majority; dare to be unique. Accept and expect honest criticism. Get a pre-reader or two (people you trust to look over your story/chapter{s} before they're posted to tell you what they think). Lastly, don't make the mistake of thinking that just because you or a few people think your story is great, everyone will. Don't get discouraged if a story flops - learn from the experience and improve.

1298399 Damn skippy. Also, if you're interested, I write stories other than FiM fics on my fanfiction.com account. Check them out if you want to try something new.

Ew, cookie dough ice cream hurts my stomach :fluttershysad:
