WKMH update postponed and announcements. · 6:00pm Aug 16th, 2013
Hey, guys.
If you were expecting an update of "When Kindness Met Hatred" to be posted tonight, I'm afraid I have to disappoint you. You see, the deal is I'm starting my junior year of college next saturday. I've been spending a lot of time saying goodbye to friends, shopping, paying for my bill and books, and I still have to pack and clean everything. On top of all that, I have an audition for "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee" the week classes start. Thus, I need time to work on two songs and a sixty second monologue. To make a long explanation short, I'm going to have to delay the next chapter update.
However, this is not to say that I haven't been working on the story; I'm currently writing the rough draft of chapter five as we speak. My goal is to finish the draft before the end of this weekend and edit whenever I can. I'm not sure when it will be posted, but I believe it would be safe to say that it will be up by September 1st AT THE ABSOLUTE LATEST. I can TRY to have it ready by next friday, but I refuse to post a chapter that looks like shit.
I apologize for being late and breaking my promise, but that leads me into what I want to share next: I don't like my current writing schedule. The reason why I wanted to make a schedule was because I have a long story planned in my head; my chapter outline rounds out to 22-25 chapters in total. While I don't want to rush my writing for the sake of quality, I also don't want to be working on this project forever. But since my summer has been extremely busy and exhausting because of my job, I feel like I'm now so far behind and my pace is too slow.
So, here's the deal, after I post the next update and get settled into school, I'm going to try to change my writing schedule. I'll have four hour shifts of work study twice a week and a very open friday schedule once the semester picks up. This will give me a lot more time to myself to write. I am getting better at writing through drafts, so if things go well, I will announce a new schedule with shorter waits for chapters. It will all just depend on how things go.
Now, before I go, I want to ask you all something: How are you enjoying "When Kindness Met Hatred" so far? I would like you to tell me what you like about the story, and what you think I can improve on. I understand and respect all opinions and hope to give you guys the best. Come on now, don't be shy.
