This blog post is gonna be a doozy.
So today I posted a story update. Yes, you read that correctly. StayOuttaMyShed updated a story. It's been over 9 months since the last time I updated a story on this site. Over 75% of a year. When I got the idea of taking a bit of a break from writing, I never imagined that I would end up going this long without an update. I know my months of laziness has to have ticked some of my readers off, and for good reason. I was already somewhat bad at bringing consistent updates, but this was ridiculous. With summer nearing it's end, I knew that I needed to get back into the swing of things once and for all. So here I am. After being stuck with only it's first chapter for so long, Don't Go To Sleep finally saw a second chapter. Today I've started work on Chapter 6 Part 2 of This Can't Be Happening, the last of my pony stories to see an update before my long absence. This week is the first week of what I'm hoping will be a successful comeback for me to fan fiction writing. It feels good to be writing again and I'm determined to be more consistent with updating than I was before I left. My plans for the future are still the same. DGTS and TCBH will both be seen through to the end. I'll be sure of that. I also still very much would like to do Ed Edd n Eddy's Big Pony Show, an Ed Edd n Eddy crossover I've had in my mind for ages, as well as A Pimp Named Spikeback 2, the sequel to my first fan fiction. Work on the Ed story will probably start in the coming weeks, but I'll wait for TCBH to at least finish before I start work on Spikeback. Once I've got those stories out, I'll explore some other ideas that I've had during the hiatus. Honestly, I'm probably more into exploring new fan fiction ideas with MLP now than I was when I last talked to you guys. What is the reason for my newly sparked interest? It may be surprising to hear, but quite honestly, it was Equestria Girls.
I was so sure that Equestria Girls was going to be a disappointment. I already had the movie judged to be crap before it came out. Stupid of me, I know. But then I actually saw the movie on YouTube and, needless to say, I was impressed. It definitley wasn't my favorite thing to come from the show, but I still really enjoyed it. The took a concept that could have gone horribly and they instead made something pretty entertaining. Not to mention one catchy as hell song. I'll admit it, I was wrong about Equestria Girls. I truly did enjoy the final product. I even enjoyed it more than the season opener and closer of season 3 (which isn't saying much for me, but still, it was a fun movie). Then more recently we saw the teaser for season 4 and it's looking pretty interesting. Plus it has more singing Applejack, and that's always a good thing.
Speaking of new stuff with the show, what else has happened since my last blog post? Well, a lot. I got a job, went to Disney World, got hooked to some new 3DS and Wii U games like Animal Crossing New Leaf and Pikmin 3, and some cool stuff happened in WWE that made me excited to be a wrestling fan again. In the world of video games, Microsoft set the bar high for worst console reveal ever, doing so bad that they had to backpedal like crazy for damage control. Grand Theft Auto 5 continues to get me hyped and E3 brought hype for new games such as Kingdom Hearts 3, Final Fantasy XV, Mario Kart 8, Super Mario 3D World, and a whole bunch of other games. Not to mention the reveal of the new Super Smash Bros game, which will introduce one of the most anticipated newcomers of all:
That's right, The Villager from Animal Crossing is here and he's out for blood. He's so relentless that even when you try to shoot something at him he just picks that shit up and puts it in his pocket. This cruel son of a bitch will bury you and drop a bowling ball on your head, all while keeping a smile. It's going to be amazing playing as this guy...oh yeah, and Megaman being in the game is pretty cool, too, I guess.
Most of all, there's been a crap ton of news announced for Pokemon X/Y. Character customization, 3D and diagonal movement, rideable Pokemon, Horde Battles, Sky Battles, Super Training, Pokemon-amie, Fairy Type, and now Mega Evolutions. This generation of Pokemon is shaping up to be the biggest generation yet and there are no words to describe how hyped I am.
To sum this blog up: Lots of stuff happened while I was gone, I'm back, and I'm going to try to keep it that way and not fall into being lazy again. If you're still here and still keeping up with my stories, I thank you for sticking with me and I'm sorry about being gone for so long. It's good to be back.
