Slight update (If anyone out there actually cares) regarding The Toll of Clockwork Tower. · 8:44am Jul 29th, 2013
Firstly, let me just say sorry for not having said anything earlier.
The Toll of Clockwork Tower is still in the making, and the story is actually finished, at least in the retrospect that It got a beginning, a middle and an end that is put together in a big entity.
It's spanning over thirteen chapters divided into three "arcs". Two of these chapters are shorter "arc dividers", while the rest of the chapters got a word count on about 8.5-9 k words/chapter.
I've just started the editing process of these ~100 k words, a process I've divided into three different editing rounds.
1. Self editing - Although I'm far from alone from doing it. I take some help from a few of the friends I've decided to share the story with to try and remove all plot holes, as well as foreshadow the story more than I did in the original draft.
2. Taking in the heavy stuff - This part is when I take in a more real editor to make the story the best it can be. Tweak for depth and characters, as well as remove unnecessary things (although I won't remove it all! I like some of them far to much~).
3. The grammar nazis - One last check over, this time to make sure that everything is grammatically correct, or as close to it as it can be.
As you can guess, this will be a rather long process, but for once I want to give out something that have been properly done from the start!
At speaking moment, I'm at the first round with the first chapter almost done. My goal right now is to start getting it out mid-September.
I want to take a special moment to thank those that have been involved in the making of The Toll of Clockwork Tower so far, direct or indirect, without any particular order:
Melon Hunter: Thank you for always be there, ready to read and comment! It warms more than you might think to know that I've you. You've been an incredibly support through this journey, and I hope you're there to follow me to the end!
Yaya: For always cheering me up, even if I only come there for complaints. Thank you for reading through the story, even though it was a slow and painful process with your amnesia. Thank you!
Goldbrain (No link on this one, I'm not sure if the one I found is his, and he's not online for me to bother with the question): Thank you for reading through and give me your comments and support. You've made me laugh on more occasions than you think with your playful idiocy.
TranquilMaelstrom: Thank you for your friendship. You might not know it, but you just being there, always talking or up for a game of Smite to take my mind away from the wall that suddenly appeared before me, have meant a lot for me through the entire process. Thank you, Cutie, for everything you've done to me.
Nick Nack: Another one I want to thank for his friendship and compassion. You've helped me alot, and you've always been ready to give me a witty comment. Two characters in particular comes to mind~
Viperxix, Aka Nightmare Moon: Thank you for every comment you make and your willingness to read a piece over and over again!
Without these lovely people, The Toll of Clockwork Tower would be utter crap. Now it at least got a chance to be descent!
That title is basically what I feel every time I do something with the D.A.S.H. logs~
Yay! can't wait
