Okay, this is just ridiculous · 3:16pm Jul 27th, 2013
Yes, it is. I mean, I upload a multi part Epic (okay that was a lie) story that people barely read as my first fanfic. It gets about 16 likes over the course of, I dunno, months? Then I write a short clopfic over the course of an evening, upload it, and less than a day later it has over 500 views, 50 likes, and a truckload of comments (at least from my standpoint).
I guess it's true what they say, sex sells.
Oh, and, don't take this as a negative. The fact that people are actually Reading my stories is awesome, I just find it a Little odd/irritating that the only stuff that most people seems to be drawn to is the stuff that involves ponies having intercourse. But, if that's what the World wants, I guess I shouldn't fault it.
I just hope that my upcoming stuff manages to score similar numbers.
Take care.
It is true. Sex sells. That is the downside to the writing fandom.

Well, it's more a downside to all of humanity, I don't Think we can fault the bronies for it. They're just doing what everyone else is doing.

True.
Not just sex. I wrote a BloombergXTom shipfic and it immediately surpassed everything else I had written at the time in terms of attention received. Trollfics and just plain stupid stories get a ridiculously good reception around here, it seems.
1243357 It's not just "around here" - I've got one of the most popular Mass Effect stories on fanfiction.net, and if you go by the summary, it's a crack-fic. Serious drama just doesn't appeal quite as well as humor and erotica. A catchy hook in the summary helps too.
