Camping was a blast, even if it was only for three days. But then I spent pretty much the rest of the week at my girlfriend's place. Had the time of my life. I can't wait to see her again. Long distance relationships suck, but they are so worth it when you get to see the other person, especially for eight days straight.
Well, I'm back and I've got platefuls of stuff to work on. Job hunting, studying to get my driver's license, still working to get tournaments started at my local store... but also Many Futures. I'm going to get right back to writing. Coming up: Character development! And lots of it. I had a lot of fun writing for the individual ponies in A Rip in Time, so I want to do it again., That, and it's good practice. Besides, how much attention has Twilight gotten in this story? Loads. It's time I shift the spotlight to the other ponies, as well as Spike.
I still have no plans to write any duels for several chapters, but I imagine some folks won't mind a break from that. But for those who DO enjoy the duels, don't worry: I've got ideas in the works now. I'm also debating whether or not to give Fluttershy, Applejack, Pinkie Pie and Rarity their own Duel Disks. It IS a possibility, though. If I do it, I've got a few ideas of what I can do for decks. Rarity's would be obvious: Gem-Knights. The others I'd still have to figure out. (But if I decided to include Xyz Monsters, Pinkie Pie could have a Madolche deck.)
I may as well give you a preview of duelists that will be appearing in the future.
First off, Antinomy is waiting for the right moment to begin his fight with Paradox.
Kazama's Reverb deck will be debuting when he steps up to save a friend.
Aporia will return with a new deck, this time focusing on Meklord Emperor Wisel.
I'm going to keep an eye out for opportunities to give Rainbow Dash a second Turbo Duel. Crystal Turbo Control seems to be pretty consistent for an archetype whose key cards are Spells.
Sherry will, of course, be making at least one more appearance in a duel.
But that's enough about people we've seen. Someone from Aki's past will be returning to the duel field in due time...
I wouldn't mind seeing the remaining Mane 6 get in on the duelling action, in fact I'm practically BEGGING for it.
As for the decks they'd use, I have some suggestions for you, I think Applejack might use a Naturia Deck, she a farmer and the deck's based around trees and fruit, so I think it would fit pretty well.
Rarity... yeah your right, the Gem-Knights were more or less made for her. (They're also my favourite archtype so far.)
Pinkie Pie, well without XYZs, it's more or less a tie between a Toon Deck since she's pretty much MLPs version on Loony Tunes, and a Chaos Ritual deck, because you know, she's Pinkie, nuff said.
And Fluttershy, again it's a tie between a Kuri deck, due to most of those guys being cute little creatures that mostly fight defensively before surprising us with a big slam for damage, like Fluttershy at the Gala (
) and a Normal Level 1/2 swarm deck that I feel embodies how Fluttershys true strength comes from the support and backing of her friends, by it reliance on swarming and a versatile back-row.
As for the Xyz debate, I'm not even sure if Zexal and 5Ds are in the same timeline to begin with, Zexal, to me, always seemed more like a "what if"story, a story of what would the world be like if Sychros and Turbo Duels were never developed and by extention Ener-d?
So, yeah. Not all that behind bringing the Xyz into the fray, plus with this being a 5Ds story and all.
But it's your fic, so it's your call, I'm just tossing in my 2 cents, hope to see more from you soon, and let me know what you think on my suggestions, I'm pretty curious.
