Three things I want... · 10:25pm Jul 11th, 2013
3: The ability to remove my stories from groups. Sometimes I'd just rather not be in a group, and it really sucks that I can't opt out of them. Maybe have the group invite people first before their stories can be added.
2: For people to stop asking me to update my stories. This is even going on offsite, and it's pissing me off. I have a full time job and when I get home, I'm exhausted and in a bad mood from dealing with dozens of idiots and having to do almost all the heavy lifting around there, and with my own personal projects that I'm hoping to one day turn into a job, writing fanfictions for free for people who just whine is honestly not very appealing to me. Instead of expecting me to write my stories for you, which just sets you up for disappointment that I have to deal with, why not drop the expectations, and when I do write, you can think of it as a bonus to your day. But seriously, it's fanfiction. I'll write it when I feel like it. Get over yourselves. You people out there who are doing this, you know who you are. Stop it.
And number 1: Site staff that actually respond to you when you send them a message. There's nothing more infuriating than trying to get help on the site or trying to bring up an issue when they keep adding more and more features that are not necessary for the site to run while leaving problems where they lie. When someone asks for help, the least you can do is fucking answer them, even if just to say you can't help.
Thanks for reading my whining. On a lighter note, I may have some more pony sprites coming out soon. I've also made bases for each species/gender so on the next release, I'll put those out, and anyone who wants to make their own sprites, feel free to use those, even if not in my exact style. And to answer the question I've gotten a few times: am I going to be making a My Little Pony game? We'll see. I'm just using the pony sprites to warm up and get my head into art mode sometimes, so maybe one day I'll make a mini RPG as practice, but nothing huge. I would like to, maybe when I get my devkit running and fully functional. But if anyone else wants to use the sprites in their own games, hey, they're not my characters, so you can do what you want with them so long as its legal. Have a ball, really, I'd love to see what you can make of them.
That is all.
Weren't you making a game with your squirrel character? I remember seeing a video of it and it looked pretty good. On the note of writing, just take your time and only write when you have the time and feel like that is something you would want to spend your freetime on. You also might be able to get the group moderator of whatever group you are trying to get your story out of to somehow remove it. As for site bugs, I'm with you on that.
Another thought, maybe you could clean up your stories list by removing those that you know that you will never work on or get back to.
Mind if i inquire as to what your bugs are? Fair warning this may offend but it's not my intent, only to mention that I feel you're being a bit hypocritical. You mention you're sick of folks harrassing you for something you do for free, but surely Knighty and the other chap whose name escapes me is doing the same thing? Trying to do something for free and having folks yell at them?
To be fair I do applaud you for ranting here rather than at Knighty but I was curious to know if you felt there was any comparison there or if it was too different. (Assuming I haven't ticked you off enough that you're not willing to debate anyways)
1206297 Perhaps you're right. Maybe I am just a hypocrite. I'm mostly just venting because it's been a stressful week, and I guess I'm kinda avoiding the topic that's really bothering me because I honestly don't think anyone would care. Although, considering my often self-destructive personality, I'm not even sure I want them to care. All things considered, I don't even think there was a point to this journal, at least not the angry rant part.
1205579 Yeah, but then people get angry when they see a story they like get taken down.

As often as I check back to see if your stories have updated, that's all I do. No update? No worries. I've got almost 70 stories on my Read Later list, anyway, and this site alone has thousands overall. Quality takes time; I've got projects of my own that I only do a modicum of work on each of them at a time, once the inspiration strikes, and that means they are very slow going (as I'm writing this I feel like I had an idea awhile ago that I didn't write down, even though I liked it a lot). So I can empathize with that. Take your time, bro. Or stop if you feel like it. Haters gonna hate.
