I was just reading up on Journey of the Spark earlier today, and it got me thinking about my earlier project shadowveil. For those of you who have not read the demo chapter I posted, Shadowveil was an idea I had to make an animated film that fit between seasons 3 and 4, exploring ideas like Equestria's founding, the extent of the worlds magic, and the concept of gods. What I came up with was a
Hey there guys, I recently started doing let's plays on my youtube channel, starting with Alien Isolation. Take a gander if you feel like it, and maybe pass it around.
As the above title suggests, the full animation of Shadowveil is very unlikely to be made. Simply put, there is not enough interest in it to warrant me trying to gain the voulantary assistance of animators and such.
Hunh. It should auto-scale whatever picture you upload; in other words, it should automatically "fit" the whole thing down into the avatar box, rather than truncating it at the edges. When you say it's having problems fitting, do you mean it's glitching up as it uploads your photo, or are you trying to find the most artistic way to crop in on the image for an icon, or what?
FIMFiction pro tip: When you respond to someone, click on the little fimfiction-static.net/images/icons/grey/reply.png icon in the upper right hand corner of their comment. This inserts the little "1220939" text (it'll show up with numbers in your text box, and convert to their name automatically once you post) — and more importantly, sends them a notification when you write your comment, so that they actually know you said something! I double-checked this page and happened to notice your reply; most people won't do that.
Anyway! If you have a link to your full-size image, paste it here and I'll see what I can do. One thing I learned looking this up is that avatar images have to be square. If you have (say) a 300x500 source image, it will take the middle 300x300. So the way to fix that is to submit a 500x500 image (with 100 pixels of blank space on both sides of the art). Alternatively, stretch or crop it yourself, just so long as the end result is as wide as it is tall.

I was trying to scale it down so that the entirety of the image fits into the icon, right now the edge details are missing

Soz, I know how to do it, I just forgot this time. And sadly, no link, it's saved on my other hard drive.
