Hi there! If you saw this pop up on your notifications, and blinked, thinking to yourself, "Who's this Habanc-guy? Didn't he do that thing or another?" then I'm not terribly surprised. I used to be around FimFiction a lot, once upon a time. I think my last story was published in January.

    Update

Hi! Sorry about going dormant (especially to my skype buddies, who I miss greatly), it's just that life is throwing some serious one-twos right about now. Not in a bad way, but more of a "Hey this is important stuff for your career" and "Go write a dissertation on Virginia Woolf" and "Dude this is why you came to school, go make cool sounds and stuff".

The Tipsy Ramblings of a Bored Complainer

So, the semester ended last week. I can sleep now! And then, imagine my surprise as I woke up yesterday morning, to find that my laptop charger had melted. Hurray! No writing or anything until Monday! I'm typing this all on my phone and that, on it's own, makes me want to scoop handfuls of toxic Vegemite into my mouth! Woohoo!

So what did I decide to do?

    I'm alive, I suppose. (Updates)

School's been raging on for awhile now, and I have been more busy than I'm used to. Needless to say, going cold turkey from three meals a day and eight hours of sleep to one-and-a-half meals and six hours of sleep hasn't been too wonderful the past few weeks. Isn't college fun?

Summer is Here! · 1:42am Jun 13th, 2013

A little late to announce, but that's it! I'm done with my studies! Now, I have nine to ten-ish weeks of sporadically interrupted peace to do what I will with my time. So, what does this mean for my writing?

Absolutely nothing! I'll probably still be as lazy and inefficient as possible. I typed up a good third of Kinetics' Chapter Six in the night/morning after my last day of high school, thanks to a massive rush of good spirits and spirits. And yet, I know it will take me two weeks to finish up the last two thirds.

...Or, maybe not. I'm going to try to establish an ideal setting for writing. Part of the problem is my house is pretty small and it's more often than not incredibly noisy with a rogue six year old running about, and I cannot think, let alone write, when it is noisy. I'm just so friggin picky when it comes to being able to write efficiently... What works best is:

- Quiet
- Sitting up straight
- Comfortable, but not too much (like slumping against the couch as I am now)
- Nothing moving in my peripherals
- Adequate lighting, but too bright and it'll hurt my eyes
- Tea, tea, and more tea
- Tea must be Earl Gray
- Tea must be hot to warm
- Tea must be sweet, and contain zero milk/creamer.
- My cat cannot prance about my keyboard as he likes to do.

But, alas, this cannot be easily attained given the hectic home I live in. I'll admit I had my first Starbucks experience a few days back, where I took my HP crudtop with me and sat down at a table to write, and I was rather pleased. If only I could just have a Starbucks in my basement.

So, my question for any of you who dare glance at my blog:

Is there anything you find that helps you heighten your acuity/ability to write?

P.S. if anyone says to drink coffee, you're going down in my blacklist. That stuff is the suppurating leakage of Satan.

Drink coff.....Red Bull

Noise canceling head phones and music.

Minor background noise. For some reason having something extraneous for a bit of my brain to do makes the rest of it focus better on the task at hand. Maybe that's why Starbucks works. Admittedly I wouldn't write in a Starbucks - they don't serve cocktails of Vault and Coke Zero.

Now, get thee crackin' on chapter 6! I'm off vacation and back on duty, ya know.

If I must, I prefer Amp.

I tried. Noise cancellation cans are a lie, unless you're willing to shell out a few hundred for them.

Ah, the admiral is back. I hope you enjoyed yourself on your little vacation?

The "minor background noise" I have found to be most effective is relaxing music. My favorite so far is "Intro" by XX. Does that count? Or is it more like a tele playing in the back room?
