SQUIDS!! · 1:19pm May 13th, 2013
The Ika-Tako virus...more commonly known as the "squids" virus.
I had to restrain myself from strangling my own sister when I brought up my computer the other day to find that thousands of files on my computer were replaced with a picture of a cute squid thing.
I now own a very expensive paperweight.
So yeah...that's the problem with updates. Sorry for the wait.
That's an ... interesting virus.
1075144 It's a virus that's five years old at least...and it basically makes your computer useless. Thre is no known fix for it either, so if your computer gets infected, you're screwed.
1075173
Wow....that's f*%king harsh... It sounds like a one of the viruses that my sister "accidentally" infects my fathers computer with constantly. Well, I hope you get a computer soon because I really like the stories that you put out! Best of luck with that.
1075197 I'm still able to write, I just can't upload until I get a new computer. I have one other computer in my home, but it is basically only a word processor...I can't even use GDocs on it.
That sucks somethin' awful man!
1075501 It does. I just spend my off-time playing Black Ops II now.
1075144 you profile picture goes so well with that comment
1075523 What system good Sir?
1075204
Damn, that's unlucky bro.
So, you play C.O.D BO2 on your spare time now? Are you on PSN or do you use XBL?
1075600 Windows Vista...quite possibly the worst OS that Microsoft has ever made.
1075609 I'm on XBL. I got turned off of Sony when they said, "Hey, you know all those awesome PS2 games you have? Can't play them on the new system, bro. Suck it."
1075643
Ha, yes. I could imagine that would turn someone away from that particular company. I miss my days on the PS2 though...
Anyway, if you play G.O.W or Halo look me up. My g.t is currently Exx Untouchable. I am in need of more brony friends that play X-box. The more the merrier, right?
1075667>>1075643 I too am XBL, also in dire need of more brony friends.
My GT is relatively simple, "Prince Venture."
1075667 I don't play Halo...but my brother plays Halo 4. His GT is "Drinks Bailies". He's not a brony, but he's a hell of a gamer. Probably the only person as good as me that I've met so far.
1075737 Added.
1075788 Coolio, I'll get on in a bit and accept it. Unfortunately though none of my games are with me.
Ika-Tako
Ha Ika is what we use for bait, and we spear fish for tako.
Ho one real fishaman dis hacka guy
1075794 It's all good...take your time.
1075809 He's a Japanese guy, so I guess so. All I know is that when he was arrested, he stated he simply wanted to see how good his skills had become.
Oh, Vista... 'good' times.
So, not even a good ol' system wipe fixes that? I mean, you could use the chance to get Seven in there. (I'm not a big fan of Windows 8)
1075971 I'll probably end up getting W7 with the new computer anyway.
Ouch...
Good luck fixing it, if it's possible. Not fun, viruses. *runs to start a scan on the computer*
No restore point? damn
I'm not sure whether to laugh because of the virus or cry for you because of the injustice of it all
1076108 There's no fixing it. Luckily for me, I didn't keep any sensitive information on it, but I can't fix the computer. I gotta get a new one.
1076124 Restore point won't matter...the OS files themselves are infected as well. This virus infects everything on your computer, whether it be a program, system files, or even an mp3.
that is one big punch to your computer's pride
and all your saved files of the update frustrating
1075667 i still got one acutally 2 and 3 Xbox 360s one dead
1076029 Windows 7 to me is better than 8. Mainly because I don't use a touch screen laptop of tablet which is what 8 was built for.
1076229
I suppose by fixing, meant a clean wipe of the drive or something I suppose. It does suck that everything is toast, however you shouldn't have to get a new computer, unless it's simply that time anyways. Then again, dunno what you can and cannot do with such a virus on the computer, so it might not let you completely wipe the drive and use it anew.
Either way, siblings are fun is a statement that has been proven once more, and hope all is well beyond the borked computer.
1076393 Yeah. One of my friend's computers has Windows 7, and I love it. That's probably the OS I'll end up getting.
1076582 I'd have to get a brand new OS anyway, and it is about that time...so I might as well just get a new comp when I have the time.
