Just have some things I need to talk about and a couple of announcements.
First off, Birthday Wishes; reason there was no update is because I'm waiting to hear back from EQD. Sent the story in about half a month ago, and was told that it was almost ready for posting, just had a few problems. I fixed those up best I could, and now it's the waiting game; I don't want to add another chapter because I know the four I have up are nearly perfect and I don't want to ruin my chance by adding a new chapter.
Second thing; I've been having a lot of trouble just finding the motivation to write. Both Rising Stars and BW got a single comment of feedback each on their latest chapters, which was a huge letdown for me. Don't get me wrong, I'm really glad with how the stories are doing with ratings and favorites, but I really want to hear from the people doing the reading. Imagine you're performing on stage, and after you're done, no one applauds; that's what it's like to me. I know I'm asking for time and some effort, but I'm not looking for a three page review of each chapter, just something to let me know people are not just still reading, but enjoying.
Lastly, I've decided to go on a somewhat hiatus. Now, this is not because of the lack of motivation, though it does make it easier. The end of the semester is here, so I really need to spend as much time as possible with schoolwork. On top of that, I am moving out of state and I have to handle all the details for that on my own, so that's a thing. I just don't really have the time to dedicate solely to writing. I hope to keep working on my writing during whatever free time I have, but don't expect anything. Hopefully any writing might be easier without this feeling of obligation to get the next chapters out. I'll be moving mid-June, so hopefully I can get back to some real writing after that.
That's all, and no, I don't plan on bitching for comments ever again.
I asked for a second pre-reader to take a look at it. This isn't due to any weaknesses in your story; it's just that we've been coming under heavy criticism lately for publishing less-than-great stories, and I'm guarding against that in general by asking for second opinions before recommending stories for posting. Other pre-readers may find issues that I missed; on the other hand, if two of us like something enough to recommend it, it's probably a great story.
There are currently thirteen unclaimed stories ahead of it in the queue. Which means... maybe a week? Don't hold me to that, though; I don't have much control over how quickly other pre-readers get around to things.
