Another Army Brony

One of the few Bronies in the Army, I decided to try my hand at writing down my ideas. It's been over 4 years now, and I found that I enjoy this.

    About my absence

I've been around for a bit. I've seen some things, done some things, and I've got my fair share of regrets.

I have enjoyed writing as an outlet, to get these feelings out of my head and onto a page so that I can inflict share them with you.

It's been a long time since I've been around. Let me explain why.

    Short version: Divorce.

Longer version: I'm getting a divorce.

    Well. Progress has been made.

So, after receiving some encouraging news about how I failed to make my writing suck (I know, it surprised me too), I've been smacked upside the head by my muse and dragged to my computer.

    So, yay.

Well, you see... what had happened was...

I've hit a bit of a snag with the writing.

Actually, this is a bit of an understatement.

I've slammed into the concrete barricade of writer's block at about 350 miles per hour.

    Yeah, that sounds better.

Yet ANOTHER side story idea · 4:07am Apr 30th, 2013

This one will be titled "The Walking Wounded" and will be about how, even after they come home, some soldiers never leave the battle field. Not all wounds bleed, and not all scars can be seen.

Timber Blaze was the son of a lumber baron and a wealthy heir to a carriage business, who grew up in Canterlot. His childhood home was a block from the guards garrison, and he'd wanted to join them as long as he could remember. Against his parents wishes, he joined at eighteen on a five year contract. Of this five tears, there was only one year that he was not deployed near Saddle Arabia. Coming home from years at war to ponies that couldn't understand him, his daily struggles against the demons in his mind is his burden alone to bear.

Or is it?

Even without the story may I suggest (Veteran of the Psychic Wars) by Blue Oyster Cult

Unfortunately i wish my brother would seek counselling he needs =/ hes self destructing blaming everyone and everything other than him self, swiftly snapping at people for innocent things x.x 2-3 years he was stationed in Iraq. Ever since he left (due to reasons) he has just gotten worse and worse to the point he has even married someone, hasn't seen his daughter in almost 18 months (to which i see her every Thursday when i pick her up from school) and blames everyone and everything for stuff that isnt their fault. i believe the phrase is "wound up tighter than a spring) =/

Especially when it has such a horrific effect on someones home life, not only them but those around them, the best example i can come up with is my niece (his daughter) telling me it isnt fair that she doesn't have a dad, yet :moustache::unsuresweetie: have two (my "sister-in-law" already having two kids, names removed and replaced), what are you meant to say to a 6 year old child saying that to you? How can you explain whats happening to someone who hasn't seen the darker side of human nature? =/

Honestly i think this is a good (albeit uncomfortable) idea =/ it should (and i believe you can and will) enlighten people to the problems a solider has coming home.

That is exactly why I want to write this story. People seem to forget that what happens over there will never go away. I was inspired to writethis as I remembered a scene from a movie I'd seen once. The title escapes me, but the scene was memorable. The movie was a comedy, and the time was the fourth if July. Ad the fireworks were going off, there was a man hiding under his kitchen table, wresting a combat helmet, and shooting at the imaginary event with a dog bone rifle. It was comical, but then I thought about how terrible it must be to be stuck in that war in your own mind, waiting for something to bring it all back.
