By the time you read this, I will have (hopefully) posted the revised and significantly expanded first chapter. There have been some significant changes to the story, as well as more character development and the filling in of several information gaps that have been brought up in the comments. I've sprinkled on a bit of humor to contrast the overwhelmingly dreary subject that is death and dying. Even with my attempts to brighten the story, given the subject matter of the content, it still should probably be marked as sad. Possibly sad comedy? At any rate, please do yourself a favor and review the chapter, otherwise anything that comes from here on will seem off.
And as for the second chapter, that is already written and is pending an edit. I am currently planning a total of four chapters and an epilogue, for a total of five chapters. That is the plan, and as Murphy's law states; no plan ever survives initial contact.
