Blast from the Past: "Happily Ever After"

Stop me if you've heard this one before:

Two guys are sitting in an IRC chatroom. One guy asks, "Hey Nick, whatever happened to Happily Ever After?"

I sat there for a moment, stunned, because I thought it was a largely forgettable story that had—naturally—been forgotten about.

So, after a little bit of conversation and help in freshening it up, I posted it on Fimfiction. It's definitely not my usual angsty dark-toned subject matter. It's more "[Bittersweet]" than "[Sad]," at any rate, which makes me curious as to its reception. I remember in early 2011, when Sadfics were generally well-received on Equestria Daily, and this story is very much based on that era (despite being written in October 2011), so how has it held up? Or is it doomed to obscurity because of its short length / lacking execution / relatively obscure author?

Time will tell.

Wait I think I read that way back in EqD, but being a one-shot it wasn't particularly memorable. I'll read it and see if it's the same story I remember.

1015458 Yeah I just read it and no, it's not the same, I could swear there was something very similar. It also had Pinkie being very angsty dramatic and generally introspective.
