    50 weeks? Pft.

    It's not like it's been a while. Y'know, a long while. Almost a year.Please don't kill me.

Not gonna lie, work on LtE has been slow. Hum, stopped-slow. Between college and other (non-literary) projects I've got going on, it got sort of out of hand. Not just that, but I was having the hardest time figuring out how to write this one next chapter.

    They say...

...that you would do good remembering the events of previous chapters for what's about to take place.

    If this goes wrong

I just want to say I will not be held responsible. c:

And ironically the description cut off the word 'right'. Great omen right there.

    Aaaaaaand rejected

Not surprised, honestly, but yeah, EqD replied during the night and it's been rejected again for another obscene number of reasons, the largest of which being what they call an 'overused crossover mechanism'.

I'm going to paste this, so if you want to tl;dr and not read, you can go ahead.

To EqD, or not to EqD · 9:21pm Apr 14th, 2013

Now, I hope you'll forgive if I've gone completely bonkers when even daring to ask this question because - sigh - the odds of achieving it aren't really agreeable.

As you might have deduced from the title, I'm pondering on whether I should or shouldn't submit a fic to EqD - more precisely, A Link to Equestria. For the past month or two, I've been extensively correcting the chapters, whether by fixing the grammar or by plain simply fixing the storytelling. Adding a bit of description where it was lacking the most, removing where it was too plentiful.

So after that much editing, I'm considering sending LtE over to EqD for evaluation. I've sent it before, way before these edits, and although their response was the coldest shoulder I'd ever gotten, I actually got some very, very good advice that definitely set my writing straight. As you might imagine, I'm actually kind of scared of the reaction this time, especially after so much editing.

Therefore, I'd like to ask you, the readers, if you think it's a good idea to send it in its current state.

Yeah, tl;dr, should I send LtE to EqD or not?

Thanks in advance!

Send it. I think it might benefit you. Good luck out there!

Do it. If yes, then cool. If no, then you know why. Editors help too

Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

I wish you luck.

I suppose you're right; nothing ventured, nothing gained. All I can do now is hope it works.

Yeah, I know; regardless of how 'cold' they might have sounded last time, they really did help me improve.

1008158. Better than the response I got one time, which was "its good, but nope. Sorry"

1008335 Eh, yeah, hear they give those, too. That's the sort of answer I'm afraid of. I'd rather a useful but really rude answer than a really rude answer period. xD

1008615 Oh, I know. If not from personal experience, then from all the complaints I see from people. I tried to nitpick as much as I could at the first 5 chapters, which were the most outdated, in my opinion, but according to popular opinion the EqD Pre-Readers have a very different idea of how something should be written (namely on Show vs Tell).

1008637 Yeah, which is why I was kind of hesitant about it. Not much else to do now except hope it gets in.

If it doesn't, whatever. xD

Personally, I rarely go onto EQD if at all these days. All the same, hope for the best but do expect the worst.

fuck EQD. if you're not on their good list, you're not getting in. my most well-received story (233 likes, 4 dislikes) got rejected
