Crying Denied, but will still update · 3:11pm Apr 14th, 2013
So I finally got a reply back from Equestria Daily. While the pre-reader has said that the Why Am I Crying? is good and likes it, he/she can't accept it because there are still errors in it.
Still, I guess that means I'm close and I can work on getting it on another time. Regardless, I'm still going to update Why Am I Crying? as promised. I'll focus getting it on Equestria Daily later. Now the chapter is done, but it's going through the last of it's edits at the moment. Hopefully it will be done soon.
Now about the next chapter: This is the first chapter of Sweetie Belle's arc of the story. As I mentioned before, Sweetie Belle's story is mostly on the focus of death, specifically the first time we realize it exists. Let's face it, the moment we wake up one morning to realize our own mortality is a kind of a big thing. Eventually, all of us are gonna die. We don't know when and we don't know how, but it's gonna happen. Other people we love are also going to die and we're gonna have to live through life without them at some point. Sometimes we take it in stride, other times we are fearful of it.
Sweetie Belle's story is mostly reflective towards my own experience with death: afraid, confused, and wanting to know the answers of such a deep mystery. Because a lot of people in my family died, I grew curious about the nature of death at a young age which may or may not have influenced my need to write tragedy so much in my stories. As such, Sweetie Belle is the character I wrote most like me (With her own personality of course), but at the same time she's the one we learn least about Diamond Tiara's character with. At least paling in comparison to Apple Bloom and Scootaloo's chapters.
Also, she's the hardest one to write in my opinion, so I'm hoping I don't screw up.

And that always frightens me. Because the more popular a story is, the higher the expectations you have to meet are. Still, I feel it will be good nonetheless.
Take it from somepony who knows, those pre-readers will nit pick everything. Trying to get on EQD is a lost cause. I mean one of the reasons they gave me once was Applejack was out of character...
