Those moments... · 5:45am Feb 19th, 2013
Currently I'm torn between finishing my damn One Shot Flutterdash fics and finally getting around to reading what's been rotting in my Read Later box. Honestly the later of the two sounds very tempting as I have been meaning to catch up on what is now becoming a hazard. Seriously, there's like 60 fics waiting to be read and over 300,000 words! Ain't nopony got time fo dat!
Have you been in a similar situation? I mean how bad can it possibly be?
I say go for the writing. The others will be there for a while unless the authors suddenly decide to delete them, which is extremely unlikely in most cases. A good shipfic will get some attention, and attention is always good. What my clopfic proved to me at least. Though if garnering a bunch of hits and followers isn't what terribly interests you, I say go for the read laters. Stick to the stories that have shorter (ie 2-5k words on average) chapters, because trying to read 20k+ chapters like a certain pair of epic fics have is hard to read only because they're such long chapters, regardless of how good the stories may be. At least, that's just my opinion.
Go for the writing. Unless you really don't feel like doing it.
I'm in a similar position, but I don't use the read later box, I tend to read a bit then decide I want to read the rest and stick a fave on it to come back later. Next to that star is "541" I will have a lot to read once my current contract runs out. A surprising amount of the fics I plan to read later are also Flutterdash...
I think the other comment might be targeting Fall of the rising as one of the certan fics...
I wish I had another break. School is holding everything up.
