Okay, first off, my thoughts on the finale. For the most part I enjoyed it. As far as the plot and characterization go, I honestly have no problems with it. I think that the idea of Twilight becoming an alicorn was handled about as well as it possibly could have been, given the circumstances. There's a decent amount of reasoning behind it, her characterization seems to be more or less intact, and she obviously doesn't view herself as superior to her friends because of it. It's not the direction I would have taken the show, but there are much worse things that could have happened. The way it was done is consistent with the characterization and setting thus far, and as such I have no reason to complain about it for reasons outside of personal preference.
As for the episode itself, I agree with the general consensus I've seen which seems to be "It had a lot of good content, but they crammed far too much in". It would have flowed better as a two parter. My more indepth look at the episode is here, for those who are interested. TL;DR it had some technical issues, but for the most part I enjoyed it. I just hope the fanbase can just get over the whole "Twilight is a princess thing" and just accept that the show may be taking a new direction. I have no doubt that the writers will be able to use the situation to get some interesting plots out of this.
Anyway, as to how this effects the story, here's the official statement:
At this time I have no plans to incorporate Alicorn Twilight into the story. If this bombshell had dropped earlier in the story's run I may have made an attempt, but I have a good idea of where I'm taking the story and I'm not going to totally rewrite everything to adjust for it. I think there's an interesting story there (I'd kinda like to see how as down to earth as AJ would react to the idea of being suddenly thrust into a relationship with royalty), but that isn't the type of story I set out to write, so I'm not going to bother with it.
I have been working on the upcoming chapter, which is currently sitting at around 3000 words. I can sense another one of those "should I do one giant chapter or two short ones?" conundrums lurking, but I'm not far enough along to worry about it now. There are a couple of scenes I'm looking forward to writing, though, and those always end up longer than I expect.

It's like for me I have two different kinds of TwiJack fics I want to write:
-The one from before we found out about Princess Twilight
-The one now that Twilight is a princess
See I had an idea of my second fic I write to be TwiJack, and now I'm kinda interested about how her being royalty could impact their potential relationship.
Still, glad to here there's more goodness on the way, we're gonna need it for the drought we're about to be in for.
841860 Two things:
1. Season 4 is confirmed for 26 episodes, so unless Hasbro/DHX went so far as to falsify official finance records to troll the bronies (highly unlikely) we'll get a followup. Especially as at least one writer (McCarthey, if I remember right) tweeted that the first two episodes of S4 are a direct followup to the S3 finale. Option A is more likely; it's possible that the S4 premiere involved Twilight being uncomfortable with her new role and choosing to turn it down. Don't know if that'll happen or not, but we're definitely going to hear more about it.
2. There's a scene in the next chapter I'm sure you'll find amusing.
Can't forget Twilight's final lines of the episode though. "Everything is going to be fine." One can only imagine what precisely could come up to prove her wrong, the bad guys whom haven't been converted are an easy answer to this. Considering the Megan McCarthy post displayed on EQD about the finale being a part of a three parter one could presume that the opening of next season will start with the other two parts and what does in fact go wrong with her coronation day, but we can only wait and see.
Now that i have the season finished and i am not currently writing for the Winning Pony Pinkie Contest (As the winner has yet to be decided) i will finally have the pleasure to get back to reading, which means i am probably going to reread this whole story again with it's new updates. Wish i could start tonight but alas i don't have enough time for all the chapters this time, more than likely i will get back to this story once i have time tomorrow.
As for the possibly upcoming decision for you Japanese Teeth, i of course support both lengths for the sake of not being demanding, but would personally prefer the longer chapter.

Princess are overrated, there not so powerfull enough (the whole Sun/Moon is more or less an Informed Ability) to make this show become something more or less that what it was in the end (a Little Girls Cartoon).

842337 Not gonna lie; I don't put the princesses that high above normal unicorns in my headcanon. Most of their ability comes from experience rather than natural power. They're more powerful obviously, but they aren't like godtier or anything. 842882 It's possible, but I feel like if they wanted him to be explicitly involved, they'd have foreshadowed it more.
