    farewell

if anybody actually ever checks this page, i'll just make sure this is here.

    i'm not coming back.

it's not that i don't want to; i want to, so very much. the show, the fandom, the commmunity - all of it really helped me when i really needed help.

i just can't. that fire, spark, whatever you want to call it - it's dead. extinguished, blown out, whatever. i don't have the will.

    cowardice

She looked out her window. The storm, even more frightful than before, showed no signs of stopping. It worried her greatly, not just for her own sake, but for those of her friends. Her family. Her eyes returned to the cup of tea before her.

    hello again

I've been gone for a while.

I've been doing some thinking, during that time. About me.

    About... things.

About here, the one place I really feel like I'm not so alone. Where there are people I can truly, seriously call friends.

And... I'm sorry, for being a coward. For just abandoning one of my favorite things with no fanfare, just a blog post and 5 months of silence.

    I'm sorry

As of now, all stories are on hiatus. I don't know for how long.

    I just can't do it.

Maybe I shouldn't have bothered in the first place.

My two cents on issues in the fandom (Twilicorn and Equestria Girls) · 4:36am Feb 13th, 2013

I really don't give a damn about Twilicorn. That passed a while ago.

As for Equestria Girls, people have been flipping their shit about it. I, personally, despise the idea, because I have a hate-fetish for anything high school. I won't jump to conclusions, however; if the pilot sucks, I won't watch the show unless my morbid curiosity gets the better of me.

I'll echo the comment I left over at D's Blog:

I smell executive meddling. And it smells awful.

I'm going to come out and say it: I don't like the premise. It reeks of Hasbro dipping its greedy fingers into another strategy, which I don't like. Seriously, Hasbro screws up its own franchises all the time. I don't want them to screw MLP up a fifth time.

As for the idea itself: I dislike it. It's taking the great big setting of Equestria, full to the brim of possibilities for good adventures, and ditching it for the infamously slutty high school setting. It's taking the cute little marshmallow ponies and transforming them into humans. And if it's going to be marketed towards teens, I'm almost certain there will be an element of romance in it. Lauren Faust specifically said that she didn't want romance in FiM, because she felt that it ruined shows, but then again, Hasbro kicked her out for not following the dotted line.

If Hasbro is trying to go for a teen-marketed audience, why is it doing this? It already has the attention of the teen to adult demographic, as well as children. It just puzzles me.

I'll give it a chance, watch the first episode, but I don't have high expectations.

Whatever.

This sounds worse than being forced to watch the 4kids version of One Piece.

If Hasbro shitcans MLP for this... I might be forced to Kurt Cobain myself :twilightoops:

822693 No worries. It's a spinoff, so it won't affect canon. Lucky us, Hasbro made a smart decision that doesn't prompt facepalms and streams of curses.

But seriously, 4kids fucked One Piece up. Jerk-offs.

822721 At least they didn't get their hands on Soul Eater. The thought pf Stein sucking on a lollypop instead of smoking (think it was Marlboro Reds 100's if I remember correctly... or am I confusing him with Spike Speigal?)

And they would have had to cut out 99% of scenes with Blaire LMAO!!! :rainbowlaugh:

^THIS. All of my this. ANYONE who remembers high school fondly is either IN high school, and therefore easily disregarded, or WRONG. There is nothing worthy about your time in high school, and after you're out, everyone looks back and thinks about how utterly stupid not only they were, but everyone around them was. :twilightangry2:
I'm sorry, but I just fucking hate high school. The only good thing about it is sports.

More pragmatically, why would you aim for this demographic? Haven't the bronies just THOROUGHLY proven that high schoolers are a notoriously unsatisfactory fanbase who will never appreciate anything you do? :unsuresweetie:

Hasbro got it all wrong
High School? Check
Humans? Check
Romance? Check

WHHHHHYYYYYY?!?! D-,,:<
