If you've looked at my bio at any point, you probably saw that I promised to explain the story behind my avatar at some time. Well, that time is now!
It starts, funnily enough, with Dwarf Fortress (see, that shameless plug had a purpose after all!). Back in the day, I used to experiment quite a bit with DF modding. I made a few new metals, some exploding arrows as hot as the sun, and an indestructible fluffball creature that had a tendency to set itself on fire. More relevant to this story, however, is the new species of humanoids I created, called Corrupts. They had bones of steel, muscles of bronze, and a body temperature of 11000 U (I forget what that translates to in K, but it's hot enough to boil blood and make clothing catch fire). I also made them [EVIL], because why not?
As an unintended side-effect, this ended up making goblins (normally always hostile to outsiders) completely chummy with my Corrupt adventurer. They didn't attack me, and I could recruit them to join in my adventures. So, I had this constantly-burning, insanely strong man walking into town with a small army of goblin raiders. I told the forum, and one of the forumites drew me a delightful piece of art, which I have since taken as my avatar for everything I do online.
And now you know!

I'm sure I have no idea what you mean. Besides, I like playing with ice, too. In fact, back when the magic (ahem, "interaction") system was still new, I came up with a whole raft of ice-based spells. Ice Spike, Ice Barrage, Arctic Wind, Cryo-Web, you name it. It's just that extreme heat tends to be more immediately harmful than extreme cold.
