    Finally!

I finally got Capitulum III up for Hybridization.

Unfortunately, the next chapter, Memoriam I, won't be arriving anytime soon, even though I plan for it to be a reimagining of the first two episodes of MLP, tweaked to address the changes in the Hybridverse. I've got my first job, so there goes most of my time, let alone the fact that I have a bad update schedule.

    Character Question

This blog post is for those who read Hybridization.

Before Hybridization, I had a fanfic I never posted called Ray of Hope. However, I barely got it past a couple of paragraphs, and as a result I decided to cancel it.

    Time to drop a bomb

I'm going to restart Fringe: The Pink Universe.

Having said that, the old story has to go. I didn't plan it out properly, and ended up writing myself into a corner and losing what inspiration I had. I guess Fringe itself ending did a number on my mood to write. (Yes, I know it's been two months since it ended!)

    Story Updates

Phew... I finally finished the first chapter of Hybridization, First Contact. I really need to learn how to write faster.

Anyway, in the realm of upcoming plans, I think I'll have to hold off on Hybridization for now. I've got some problems with it right now, as I've been toying with at least three different plans for it, and none of them seem viable at all.

Something to get off my chest... · 6:42am Jan 30th, 2013

I recently came across this image on Derpibooru. I know the source is unverified, but I'm kind of inclined to trust it. Largely because it's the only explanation that makes any sense whatsoever.

I'm looking at all of this Alicorn Twilight drama, and when I look at it, I feel depressed. I'm not sure how to put it into words, but... I just feel depressed. This type of bomb, you drop with a series finale, not a season finale. I mean, the idea that Twilight will eventually become an alicorn has been with us this whole time. I was a supporter of it, but now that I see it, I kind of realize what implications it brings. Effectively, it feels like Twilight's adventures have come to an end, and the depressing screens we've seen of a dilapidated Carousel Boutique and Sweet Apple Acres only twists the knife.

Season 4 has been confirmed. There is no doubt about this. But this means that somepony will have to replace Twilight as the resident unicorn stereotype, and when this stuff happens, it doesn't end well for most animated shows. As I said, this type of bomb, you drop with a series finale. It feels like My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is over to me.

To put it bluntly, I'm withdrawing my loyalty to the show and the brand.

I don't think I'll see the season finale, and if I do, it'll be the last new episode I watch, unless Hasbro gets their act together. To do that, however, they'd have to start a Generation 5, or maybe a Generation 4.5 at this point. They've damaged the show's timeline irrevocably, and if I were an Observer, I'd go back in time and shoot the man responsible before he has the idea.

I'm not withdrawing my loyalty to the fanbase. That stays. I'm going to continue to write, although from this point forward, all of my stories will follow a road not taken. I will no longer follow canon past Season 3 Episodes 1 and 2 in my stories; Hybridization has already been slated to do that. I'm not just Pinkie Promising here. I'm taking a blood oath.

I just needed to get that off my chest. It really hurts to see something you love take a nosedive. And I can only imagine how Lauren Faust feels about this whole fiasco. When I finish this blog post, I am logging onto deviantART using an old account, apologizing to her, and asking what she thinks.

Welp, long live the bronies, and f:fluttercry:k you, Hasbro. Especially the idiots that make the decisions.

EDIT: I want to recant something. I don't have a problem with Twilight becoming an alicorn in and of itself. My problem lies in what happens after that. What happens to the show after Twilight's apotheosis? This is what I meant with this being a bomb you drop during a series finale.

EDIT 2: I've decided.

I'm swallowing my pride and watching the finale when it's available on YouTube.

Lol, another blog post about how bad Alicorn Twilight is most definitely gonna be, even though we haven't seen any of the episode yet.

I can feel your pain, that's for sure. Even if they were to replace Twilight with Trixie...I'd be thrilled, but only for a while. Dropping a bombshell like this just feels so wrong. I mean, really; they can't make a bunch of episodes involving random or interesting adventures that DOESN'T center around permanently changing one of the star characters? It just feels so wrong. I really hope that it's just a facade and that Twilight only becomes a princess momentarily, but she asks for it to be taken away at the end because she feels she's not ready or doesn't WANT that role. That her friends are more important. I'm HOPING that's what happens.

771895 I'll freely admit I haven't seen the episode yet. I'm just not looking forward to it, that's all, and even if it is good, what about the rest of the show?

771919 I wish that were the case, but it turns out that Hasbro is churning out Alicorn Twilight toys faster than FIMFiction gets new stories. It's permanent. The Hub did hint that she'll try and continue a civilian facade, though.

Off to eBay!
Or some other web store where they're available. :trollestia:

771996 They aren't released yet, not as far as I know.

771985 I don't know. I mean, they have Princess Celestia toys out that are pink and look nothing LIKE Celestia. So, it might just be a one-time thing. Like, get a new Alicorn Twilight Sparkle while you can, as they're around only for a limited time! If she DOES stay as an alicorn, what I hope happens is she stays in Ponyville, but from now on we see her trying to adapt to her new wings and her new magic and we see her struggles with it. If that happens, I can tolerate her change...somewhat. But, I'll still really, REALLY miss her for who she once was. :raritycry:

772012 Amen, my friend. Amen.
