[status report] Sweet Nothings chatper 3 progress · 2:10pm Jan 28th, 2013
I figure since I actually have people following this, I may as well show some sign of life to let y'all know I've not abandoned the story or nothing.
Chapter 3 has just been kicking my ass for the last 2 months. We've got about 8k words written but I hit a major block and have been dragging my feet on finishing up the gaps in the chapter. I had my prereaders take a look at the incomplete chapter over the weekend and got some much needed feedback on what was really a major problem that I and my editor had been completely blind to (knowing the whole story already, we can't see the forest for the trees a lot of the time). Fortunately, we came up with a workable solution which involves splitting the chapter into two chapters and I feel confident that I will get to keep most of the stuff I've already written as we do this.
It's gonna take some time for me to work out the new plan of events for chapter 3 and the new chapter 4 but it should be a boon more than a bane and I hope to get back on track within a month. Apologies for the huge delay in the story, especially this early, but rest assured it'll be a lot stronger for it. And as an added bonus, it'll mean that you shouldn't have to wait more than a couple weeks after 3 for 4 to come out.
