So a long-time and dear friend of mine wrote something and it's a beautiful story that I have to share with as many people as possible.
It's a Darkest Dungeon story, and it's graphically violent. I encourage readers to use their own judgement and discretion about reading it, but for those who can bear it, the ending is worth every brutal word.
I'm only passingly familiar with Darkest Dungeon myself. There were only a few places where I reckoned that knowing the lore of the game would have added meaning to the story, but I never felt that it was required for any of it.
I'm honestly at a loss for words for how else to speak about this story, and all I can think to say is in Rake's voice:
I will meet you on the mountain.
Link to AO3 because it's not mlp:

I'll give it a whorl.
Your Sweet Nothings is extremely beautiful. Plus, I do play Darkest Dungeon. Though, I have not quite ever made it to the end, because mods.
I did spoil myself with the ending, but that wasn't what stopped me. The grind was getting tedious

Thank you!
And yeah; I love the look of Darkest Dungeon, but found playing it to be unenjoyable. (Because it's only grinding, and I did enough of that in my years playing FFXI Online.)
Apparently it is a story about Darkest Dungeon 2.
I am unfamiliar with lots of the stuff they did, on account it has different mechanics and new characters, but I do recognise two of the characters.
I don't know if this is how the game mechanics go at the end of the fic, but the story is pretty good.
