Thoughts on Neuromancer · 1:51pm Jun 20th, 2022
Recently read Neuromancer. What follows are some loosely-connected thoughts about it. More of a ramble than anything else, I just needed a place to write some of this out while I digest the story.

I'm gonna speak a bit more personally in this blog than I normally do. This is mostly for my own benefit, as writing things out like this will—I think hope—help me organize and focus my efforts so I can get back to working on not just my AI Misadventures story, but also the other story ideas I've had kicking around the back of my head for well over a year now. However, for the couple dozen of you who have Starlight and Sunburst's
I had to let this one sit for a while. Now that the sci-fi contest results are in, I think I'm ready to do this. My process on how I wrote The Button and my retrospective after the break.

I have it outlined and details are starting to percolate up from the depths of my imagination. The biggest thing slowing me down has honestly been my job. I've been teetering on the brink of burnout for years, and over the last few months there have been some shakeups at the
Another story I didn't write, but I edited for.
I finished a short story. I feel good about it.
But I want to take a minute to go over what I set out to do versus the final product to sort through my method and identify what I think worked, what didn't, and what I can try to do different next time. This is a fairly long blog post, and it's mostly for my own benefit, but for anyone who's interested, all the juicy behind-the-scenes stuff is behind the break. There's also a sneak peek at what I have planned to work on next at the end.

Not one I wrote, but I did help edit it.
And writing a blog about reading books about writing... How delightfully meta.
