After a few minutes of searching, I came across a Firefox add-on that allows you to legally download YouTube videos.
As such, it presents an ideal solution to the Derpy issue: just pretend the altered version doesn't exist, find and download the old one, and quit whining.
There. It is now officially not my problem.
On an unrelated note, the canonization of minotaurs has set my creative gears turning. I also find it funny that he was first introduced in the center of a hedge maze. (Yay for obscure history!) In any case, it opens up the field a bit for prospective canonical villains. Griffons were all fine and good, but it's nice to have a bit of variety now and then.

An alternative to this for all the "cheapa$$"s, as you so delicately put it
Once you have that, go to the following link and get the youtube downloader add-on and just get it directly from Youtube from one of the HD editions available on there. It is a licensed add-on from Mozilla and there is no threat of getting a virus that you have from torrenting, nor that of having your ISP get butthurt and send you nasty grams.

P.S. For the record, I used this to get the episodes only until I had the money to properly purchase the seasons from iTunes. I am very happy with my copy of Last Roundup in all of its Derpy glory, as well as Hearts and Hooves day due to it still being withdrawn from iTunes

Besides, I never said I torrented it. I said I found torrents. And that seems to be a better solution anyway.
