So, I'm making a blog. Yay. Expect lots of random, but somehow pony-related things here. Very probably also large amounts of mustaches.

Today I'm going to talk a little bit about YouTube annotations and their performance. It's pony related cuz I used a pony vid to test it on (the mustaches also begin here)

What do you see?
Well, I randomly came across the video today, and noticed the quite large amount, but especially nicely ordered annotations. When I started moving the mouse over them really fast, and then stopped, it would go on for a few seconds.

"I can do that better" I thought, so I made a simple script that moves the mouse over each of the annotations (clockwise order) in rapid succession. I then let that script run for about 30 seconds, thus generating lots of mouseover events. You can see in the video where I stopped the script, as the mouse becomes stationary on the second item in the left row.

Conclusion: (on my PC at least) it continues to hover over buttons about as long as I let the script run. I would test if I can make the player crash after a while, but the video I used was too short for that. So, if you know a 10-hour video which has lots of static annotations the whole time, let me know in the comments.
