I created this account about two days ago, posted a story I wrote in early December that I honestly thought I would get a lot of flack for. In that amount of time, I've gotten a lot of praise for it, and it's in the "popular" story stream. I am honestly in shock. How did it even get there?!
I'm always terrified when I publish a new story, more so with something that has such provocative content, which is why I created a new account on a website I never used before to post it - to take some of the edge off and not insult any watchers I have on DA. Really, when I post a new story, I'm a nervous wreck, this story especially.
But Stuck has received so much attention already, and people are not reacting AT ALL like I thought they would. I honestly thought the story was too kinky. Apparently it's not kinky enough since I've been asked to make a sequel with rope >_< (I'll think about it...) And the things that people are saying about my story - that it's CUTE and sexy - completely threw me off guard. I've been complemented on making characters really cute in stories before, but I didn't realize it was so ubiquitous in my work. Also did not realize that plot lines were so missing in clopfics, but I guess that's true, huh? Haha! I try to make my stories flow, so I didn't even give a second thought to it.
So, waking up this morning, and seeing over sixty notifications and counting, I felt the need to post this blog. I thought I sucked at writing romance. I didn't even want to mark it as a tag, but it was the only one that fit, yet that's one of the compliments I keep getting. Honestly, I don't know what to say. I am flattered my writing skills and imagination could get this much attention in such a short time (even if it is for a clopfic. Seriously? I know, if you knew me in person, none of this would make sense. I usually shock my friends if I even know what sex is, let alone talk about it.) I know, the attention will pass and all, but I really needed a boost since I've been so stressed out and anxious lately. Thank you guys!
The only thing I hate about this is that I've seem to have created expectations of my work I have no idea if I can follow up on. Curse you, pessimism! But I'll try not to disappoint.

I thought the story had a perfect balance of romance/eroticism personally. I love it when the two are mixed well. Anyway, just hope to see more from you soon! :)

Sir, do not fret. Writing appears to come naturally to you, and fluctuations in quality are absolutely normal. I loved the story, and would REALLY love to see more from you in the future. You are a genuinly good writer, and I am certain you will do a good job, regardless of topic. But more fics in the Spectrum of Stuck would be cool... Y'know...

Good Lord, I should read profiles more. I just decided to check your profile, and HOLY SHIT are you quite the character. Not only that you are very talented, you are also very much the exception in regards to tastes in writing and attitude.
I meant what I wrote above, I can't imagine you do not have talent, given your great story. Judging by your profile page you have another account with "normal" stories? I would love to see those, since I am pretty much certain I would love them too.
But I digress. Good job, don't feel intimidated and keep up the good work :)
I just found your debut story today and I've read it twice already, which when it comes to fanfiction is pretty much unprecedented. So yeah.
I can only agree with the other commenters, and with yourself for that matter. And I can say nothing else but that this fic reminded me why Appledash is pretty much my OTP, although I doubt I could ever write it satisfactorily myself. The way you write it, interspersing the lovely clop with genuine feeling and, as you said, cuteness. Cuteness of the reasonable and believable kind, even. This is quality of the kind that deserves promotion, in my opinion.
So, don't be shy, don't be a stranger, and keep up the good work here on the "darker" side of FIMfiction. You even got a comment from the admin him/herself, so I'd say the notoriety you've gained is well earned, and the praise well deserved. I'll be watching you.

I have to say, I wasn't really much a fan of AppleDash until I read your story Stuck! My favorite pairing is still Vinyl/Octavia (is there a hybrid word for those two? I'll bet its a tongue twister!) However, I'm extremely excited to keep an eye out and hope for more works from you, Clopfics or not! I hope you get settled into the rhythm of fimfiction soon and grace us all with either a second chapter (if no more, maybe mark the story as complete) or another story! Thanks again!

Too kinky? Nah. It had a good balance of romance and sexyness in my opinion. Glad you've gotten so many positive reviews! Your story deserves them!
Only thing about making follow ups is..really don't try too hard to make it a follow up. If that makes sense.. I mean, let the story flow and don't be too stressed about making it a sequel.
But again, congratz on the reviews and glad you're taking this all in stride. I know you'll continue your great stories so long as you have fun writing them.
