Follow & Thumbs | How to Add Your Voice to the Feature Box
    --
tl;dr - Follow authors and thumb-up stories. Favorites don't affect the feature box and hot list.

Hey guys, I'm writing this because I like attention and I guess some of you like my writing (Thanks!) or maybe you want attention too. If you're a reader here's how to voice your opinion: thumbs and watching.

It's here. After a year of learning how to write, and two rewrites from scratch, it's time to let it see the light of day.

"Fear of Falling" update and a request for my readers

I'd like to ask your help with something, but first:

I have on my drive right now two partial drafts. The first is a "Falling" rewrite with extended backstory and improved atmosphere

Fluttershy tried again, speaking louder. "Miss Morningsky wanted me to give you your papers, you see..."

Dash gave no answer. She continued her steady clip-clop past ponies' back doors.

The End of Solar Flare · 4:35pm Dec 27th, 2012

I decided this months ago, but didn't think to post it here until now.

Basically, Solar Flare turned out to be a bad idea for me. I'm sure there are plenty of people who can approach stories from a critical mindset and not get cynical about fanfiction in general, but I'm not one of them. Bitterness, sleepless nights, and just plain not-enjoying-this anymore built up pretty quickly for me.

So I quietly ended the project. Now you know.

I still think it's important to promote quality. But I think a better way to do it is to encourage people to use the hot-list and feature system here.

If I ever do something similar, it will be "fics that deserve a second look" instead of "finding the best" sort of deal.

'Twas a worthy, ambitious project. Agreed, there are ways of approximating the desired result within the bounds of FIM Fiction. For example, starting one's own group, and with wonderful arbitrariness critiquing underrated stories while encouraging others to do the same. Why wait for the next round of reviews?

Happy holidays, BTW.
