    Tape Deck's Mixtape: Track 32

Back to my scheduled alphabetized list of bands again.

I found this one while looking up stuff about Custard. Jebediah's Australian as well.

Leaving Home from the 1997 album Slightly Odway.

(A play on the phrase "slightly odd way")

    Tape Deck's Mixtape: Track 31

    Dear listeners, I forgot one.:facehoof:

Finding You by the Go-Betweens, from the 2005 album Oceans Apart.

They had some popularity in the 80s, but I know them because when they had a bit of a revival as a band, the new drummer is also the drummer for Custard.

    (Glenn Thompson.)

    Tape Deck's Mixtape: Track 30

dang it's been a month since I started doing this (roughly).

    Tempus fugit.

Jack Johnson's a pretty good soft rock/acoustic pop/whatever musician, and he also did the excellent soundtrack to the 2006 animated film Curious George.

Flake from his 2001 album Brushfire Fairytales.

Tape Deck's Mixtape: Track 7 · 12:54pm May 18th

Want some decent, pretty much standard alternative rock from 1996?

Here ya go.

King of New Orleans by Better than Ezra, from the album Friction, Baby.

Reminds me of my favorite Norm Macdonald joke:

"In music news, Number 1 on the college charts this summer was Better than Ezra. And at Number 2: Ezra."

Wait, really?
I've never heard that.
That's hilarious.:rainbowlaugh:
And thanks for stopping by.
(If you're interested in his as well, I'm basically piggybacking off of Vertigo22's Daily Dose of music.)

As a teenager in the 90s, I was legally required to watch SNL, back when it was still funny. Here's my other favorite quote from Norm's "Weekend Update":

At a press conference this week, FAA officials studying last year's crash of TWA flight 800 announced that they have pinpointed the cause: a frayed wire leading from the jet's fuel tank. According to the investigators, the wire became frayed when it was struck by a missile.

A little context: TWA flight 800 crashed into the ocean after it exploded midair. Eyewitnesses saw what looked like a missle hitting the plane, and radar imagery seemed to confirn it. However, the FAA blamed the frayed wire in the fuel tank.

Great again, and thanks for the context.:rainbowlaugh:

This was surprisingly good. Great choice!
