Intense focus pays off. For me, I had two achieved today
Let's start with the first one: I managed to get the best ao12 time in Solitaire Chess 8. It only took me about two days and 1000 solves, but hey, I finally got it
So today I took the time and actually managed to do something productive!
Well, not in a sense of what is useful for humanity per se, rather personal. You see, I did mention that I am doing Solitaire Chess puzzles at the moment, and oh so much I did.
Take it from someone whose been at this for a better part of a decade, every moment etching away at a story is a worthwhile effort even if it produces no benefit. It helps you grow. As a writer, and in some ways, as a person too. I can't begin to tell you how many of my own stories have never seen the light of day, but whose beats and characters and lessons I learned of what I did right and wrong, what worked and what didn't, follow me everywhere.
And you know, people write for all sorts of reasons. Even if it's for the smallest thing, like the recognition of a few strangers. It's a cathartic practice that allows us to express to the world in a way where spoken words would fail. For many including myself, I bet writing is one of the few ways that they can communicate in a deeper and more foundational sense. Writing allows you time to say what you want to say, without your brain muddying it up in real time. And even then, we sometimes mess it up because writing is not an easy thing in its own right. That's not even to mention storytelling either, which is an extra layer of complexity.
I found that the art of storytelling is a chronic thing. It might go away one day, and it will come back with a vengeance the next. It's a cyclical desire of the human soul to want to impart our knowledge, leave legacies behind, help others grow, connect with others, and sometimes, just wanting to tell a good story. If for nothing else, just to entertain yourself.
"The end is not always the end." - Some guy named Stanley probably.
Doubtly. It would take a lot of time and effort to finish where the motivation would have to stay consistent throughout months—at least for what I had in mind.
Maybe I write once something different and shorter but around the same idea
The only thing worse than writing is not writing.
Writing is NEVER a waste of time!

The call of Trixie cannot be denied.

Funny enough, this fic has absolutely nothing to do with Trixie

Maybe that is why it 'refuses to get finished'. It clearly needs more Trixie.
