What To Even Call This Blog Post

Man, I am writing this under probably the second-least most-conducive mental condition: having just written another short story.

    So, what's news:

Unexpurgated Rambling (perpendat itaque lector cave)

I find it fitting to elaborate on a few things which have been raised with me for some time. Notably, these are my depictions of characters in my FiMfics. I do not need to defend myself to anyone, yet I will explain myself so that people may understand.

    Reading FiM Fics

If you haven't noticed, I don't read many FiM fics.

I don't watch the show, either.

    I haven't seen Equestria Girls.

    I haven't seen Season 3.

Now, some of you may ask (and rightly so) "How can you write fanfics about a universe you don't know anything about?"

To those people, I laugh. And I laugh again. And, this time only, you get an extra laugh, absolutely free.

Gods and Ponies - bit of world-building for my own interpretation of Equestria. · 11:40am Dec 23rd, 2012

In the beginning, Equestria did not exist. All that there was, was chaos.

But out of the chaos, there shined three lights.

One called itself the Sun, and said that it perceived a great and empty world, with all that it saw under its domain, and so it was.

One called itself the Moon, and said that it perceived a world full of life and creatures and plants of every description, with all that breathed under its protection, and so it was.

And the last called itself Love, and said that it perceived that all things would end, even itself and the other two lights, and so it was.

And the Sun and the Moon questioned Love, and protested at what it had perceived. How can such as we die, asked the Sun, who are all-powerful? How can such as we end, asked the Moon, who never alter nor change?

And Love smiled, and said that it perceived that they would change and become mortal like the creatures below.

And so it was that the Sun came to Equestria, and became a mortal pony, the Princess Celestia.

And so it was that the Moon came to Equestria, and became a mortal pony, the Princess Luna.

And so it was that when Love came to Equestria, the Sun and the Moon banished her to the frozen north, never to trouble their realms again, and so it was that Princess Cadence disappeared for a goodly time.

Time passed, and Celestia and Luna, though remembering their mortality, grew bored, and set among themselves a competition. They would each create armies, and set themselves against each other, and again and again, until the sun and moon above them refused to move.

It was then that a fourth light shone through the void. It called itself Chaos, and resented all that the other lights had done to harm it.

And so it said that it perceived a time when the world would collapse upon itself and become chaos once more, and all would be united.

And so it will be.

And though Chaos saw that it would occur, it would come too slowly for its taste, and so it came down itself to speed it. For though the other lights had been made mortal by Love, Chaos never had been and never could be.

And so it took on the form of a being never to live below and called itself Discord. And though the Sun and the Moon fought against it, they could never defeat it, for when they were apart, it always turned one against the other, and though they defeated its servants, they could never harm it.

Until, at the last, Discord's trickery proved too effective - the Sun banished the Moon, and with its power now unified in purpose, defeated Chaos, and banished it as well.

For friendship weakens ponies individually. But as Chaos knows too well, unified ponies can never be defeated.

And that is why we stand together. For if we do not, then we will be defeated, one by one.
