Monthly Update · 9:22am April 2nd
It’s been a bit since I last checked in, just thought I’d provide an update on how things are going. I feel like making these updates regular (once a month, maybe?) things, let me know how you feel about that.
Work on the next chapter of Tagesanbruch is slow, but happening. So many things have happened this last month, including my baptism, which took a bit of time away. It also took me some time to actually get an opening for the chapter that I liked. I’ve also been practising a bit with dialogue, writing a mini-story as an exercise. Nonetheless, I am pushing through, and expect a smaller one-on-one chapter soon. I’ve also been having fun with the new Katzenreich April Fools for EaW.
For anyone who’s interested in it, the rewrite for The End of Changelingia (which I’m still deciding on a new name for) (it’s also now a bit of a darker atmosphere) has reached 12,000+ words, and the first chapter is almost intact. Here’s a little teaser, thoughts?
*Bang*
A bullet zipped past Pharynx, past Synovial, and flew right into the car. Pharynx instinctively ducked while Synovial whipped his revolver around. Pharynx heard three more bangs, and the Hivemarschall’s troops raised their rifles towards the crowd. Screams were cried. Pharynx’s ‘lings pushed their way out from among the mass.
“Surrender all your weapons immediately!” Synovial yelled. At first, Pharynx thought he was addressing his troops, but then he turned to where Synovial had fired.
One of the protestors lay dead, blood slowly leaking onto the cobble ground. On the ground next to him lay a hunting rifle that had half its barrel sawed-off. Behind his body, another staggered, trying to cry away a shallow bullet hole in his chest while his blue lifeblood was splattered on the side of his head.
Pharynx looked back to see Synovial beckoning towards him, without the cigarette in his mouth. “That was a close one. Come, let’s get you out of here before someling else tries to end you.”
Finally, to end off, here’s my music of the month:
Civ V’s China war theme: Goa Shan Liu Shui
Looking forwards to it
