My Favorite Rooster Teeth Memory · 3:33am March 7th
Back in the days of Community Hunter (2007-2010ish), I spent hours and hours putting together videos.
To the point where I found myself in an AIM chatroom (aging myself as I type this) with most of the core Achievement Hunter staff.
One day, Geoff (head of AH staff) asks, "Can we fire Gav and hire Miles?"
I knew it was said in jest, but I would have done it, without question.
I would have packed my bags and moved 1,100 miles to Austin in a fucking heartbeat.
It wouldn't have been the best decision in retrospect, but I would have absolutely taken that leap, because that's how awesome it felt to be a part of that passionate community back then.
It's been a nice evening of reminiscing. Not of the last entire 21 years, but of a company that gave us some of the best times on the internet from 2003 to 2015, before things started downhill.
What do you think will happen to Geoff? That guy really should've left RT before things started to go down in terms of all the stuff that transpired in recent years at the company.
Favorite RT memory for me...RWBY Red trailer. At the time I didn't know who Monty Oum was let alone Rooster Teeth. After watching that trailer, I was hooked.

Honestly? The founders are very likely minted. They'll be fine. I'm worried about them the least.

I came just before Rwby Volume 4 dropped, like oh here is this cool show... immediately started disliking 4 onward compared to the first 3... and just gradually watched it all get worse over time, this is so sad tho man. Couldn't they have waited for rvb to have its send off first.
On one hand that’s awesome that you close enough with them that they joked about hiring you… but on other you definitely dodged a bullet there

Its a sad day but the writing has been on the walls for a while now. Ever since AH fell apart you could feel it happening then AH closed and RT was not far behind.
Just so people are aware a lot of RTs content is already being pushed to archive.org. They are the preferred choice for everything publicly available right now. As for first content well thats pirating and archive can't host it so other people are working on that.
Rest assured nothing will be lost if these data hoarders can do anything about it but it's a shit load of data 80Tb is the last guess I have seen.
