i hope this letter finds its way to you the battle for Durdun is going well the 30th Crystal Chasseurs are fighting hard we took a village from the enemy and held it for several days then we were ordered to take Fort Vixon from the Totenkopf Chrysalis Division made of 12 to 18-year-old boys and girls that were old enough to be your children they fought to the bitter end they almost decimated us we took a few prisoners my men want to execute them as a reprisal for bloodshed i stop them and order them to escort back to our line to be sent to a pow camp for their unit we were relieved of our position and rotated back to the base to rest and refit i was given three week leave so i will be home soon we can spent time together i can't wait to see you and ever so slowly strip you of your... well that can wait
