Update on Chapter 13 · 2:17am Dec 14th, 2023
If you think I'm dead...! I'm not!
Just been busy, making chapter 13's progress slow. It doesn't help that it will be a longer chapter (prob. around 4.3K+ at completion).
What have I been busy with? Work!
I got a new job (go me), and training has been rough. I've been having to drive down to the nearest city 70+ miles away, meaning I have to wake up at 4/4:30 AM to get there on time and come home at 5 pm, to then sleep at 8/9. That doesn't seem like a problem, "4 whole hours to write," but I write for fun, and it's my 4th in line for-fun-hobby. Luckily, training ends Friday and things should be back on track as I'll be working in my hometown, part-time.
I'm not excusing my slow rollout, because I am slow, but I wanted to give those who look forward to a chapter info on what's going on.
I'm curious, how many of you actually look forward to a chapter? (Give me that tasty tasty internet validation 
).
Anyway, for some assurances:
Chapter 13 is at 4.2K+ words, will probably reach 5K, and then be trimmed down to 4.3K+ during editing.
Up to chapter 18 has been plotted out, ie. "X thing happens, then."
Chapter 18 should conclude the first arc. I say should as a lot of the time when I plan out a chapter, it covers enough content to go over 3.5K words or parts of it are better to be included in the next for focus. However, I plan on not splitting these last few chapters.
This means the next few chapters are more than likely going to be longer. I fully expect 15 and 16 to reach 6K+ (Oh boy!)
I know I can't wait to next chapter and thank you for the update I'm really enjoying your story and I hope you're enjoying writing as much as I enjoy reading it.
So far it good but I worry their prejudices against discord may make friendship die when the truth comes out because truth always finds a way of coming out.
