So... I know this is a bit of a random post... but I've been thinking that maybe my blog needs a bit more from time to time that isn’t just stuff about my life or sharing previews of fics that may be years in the future.
So, I've decided to try to start sharing ponified versions of jokes that I know (as in, versions of the jokes where the characters are ponies) on Fridays.
I can’t promise I'll do this every Friday, but I'll try to at least make this a semi-regular thing.
Hopefully, whoever reads it will enjoy it and get a few laughs. :)
With all this put forth, here is the joke.
A grey earth pony stallion stood in the hallway of a psychiatric hospital, standing around looking bored, when a brown unicorn stallion passed by, levitating a ladder alongside him with his magic.
"Whoa there," the earth pony asked. "What are you doing with that ladder?"
The unicorn's eyes darted around like he was afraid he'd be overheard, and then, creeping close to the earth pony, he whispered,
"This ladder is for my escape plan."
"What do you mean?" the earth pony asked.
"Simple. Tonight at midnight I'll go up to the gate, lean the ladder against the gate, climb on top, jump over to the other side, and WHAM! Freedom, here I come!"
"Whoa..." the earth pony marveled. "Good luck, mate!"
"Thanks!" the unicorn replied, walking away with the ladder.
The earth pony stood around for a while longer, and then went away to try to find something to do.
The hours passed by, and at one o'clock in the morning the earth pony was back in the hallway because he couldn’t sleep, when all of a sudden, the unicorn walks in coming from outside, again levitating the ladder alongside him.
"What are you doing here?" the earth pony asked. "I thought you were going to escape the hospital!"
"And I was, but my plan failed. I couldn’t lean the ladder against the gate."
Seeing the earth pony's puzzled look, the unicorn adds,
"The gate was open!"
Okay, that got a chuckle out of me.
