An Apology to the Huragok Fans · 11:43pm Nov 7th, 2023
Hey everyone.
If you've been following "A Huragok in Equestria" you might've noticed there was an update today, yet when you went to read it, there were no new chapters.
Long story short, I wrote a part I'm not happy with.
To make a short story long, Chapter 3 and Interlude γ had a lot of problems that resulted in a part I'm not happy with. For those who missed it, the chapter was about Trixie and Hugs the Ceiling getting lost in the Everfree Forest, finding a crashed Covenant ship, and subsequently being attacked, with Hugs the Ceiling being heavily injured. A few major problems:
1) It doesn't fit the story's general tone at all. It's supposed to be E, and those two chapters were closer to T with some necessary violence and gore labels.
2) It was very rushed due to some personal nonsense (TL;DR: A mix of burnout and writer's block).
3) I just generally wasn't happy with it? The pacing was even worse than usual and some of the interactions felt forced, especially towards the end.
I'm going to be stepping back from AHIE for a few days and seriously planning out some rough beats for the future. Chapters 1 and 2 (with interludes) won't be going anywhere. Chapter 3 (and Interlude γ) will remain taken down for the time being, though I may reupload them as part of a scraps compilation at somepoint.
I'll be trying out writing a fresh third chapter, keeping some of the good parts (Trixie and Hugs bonding some more) while discarding the unnecessary brutality.
A big apology to those who were excited about another chapter of Hugs' adventures in Equestria. Thank you so much for the support on AHIE, even if I fumbled it a bit.
Take your time man, rushing things can lead to burnout more frequently, take break between chapters and take your time. I look forward to future chapters!

Thank you much, friend. I don't have a particulaely healthy relationship with writing. Either way, I aim to please.

Just keep your head up, the more you write, the more you’ll get better. Remember, mental health is important, take care of yourself.
