Etiquette on the Internet is still a thing. · 3:00pm Aug 4th, 2023
Had to block an artist and follower (on Twitter).
So honest question: In what fantasy world does continually pestering someone through DMs over a period of months get you hired for a commission?
When someone tells you, "Sorry, I don't have the funds to spare right now," what drives you to ask, "Are you sure? I could really use the work." Do you think they're lying? Why don't you believe them, and instead piss off and leave that person be?
How about instead of reducing yourself to what is essentially online panhandling, you instead take your spare time, work on your craft and your portfolio, and make yourself desirable when someone comes to you for a commission, and not the other way around?
I also learned months ago, never, ever, ever use the word "commission" on Twitter if you don't want to summon a horde of scamming bots.
Alright, rant over.
I hope everyone enjoys their Friday and their weekend!
The internet makes it too easy to be a annoying dickhead.
Not to be cliché, but that's why I don't like Twitter. One of several reasons, that is.

I'm waiting for something comparable. I signed up for the BlueSky waitlist months ago.

It would be nice to see Twitter actually have competition and thus actually need to clean themselves up.

I love that the blue checks have the ability to hide the check now.
Buy something then hide it because the majority of the internet won't stop making fun of you.
wait wait wait....
someone else, was asking you, to commission them for pay? Not them commissioning you, but begging you, to commission them?
that is a perfect time to tell them to GDIAF and click the block/ignore buttons.

Yup.

Twitter after Elon has taken over has been... something.

Twitter has always been a shitshow. It's why I got rid of it and all "social media" back in 2017.
That sounds really annoying and uncomfortable. Pestering others is not good for one's reputation.
