I'm sure you all know me by now. If not, my name is Spyder27~ I'm the author of a series called the Sundagioverse. Conveniently, that is exactly what I am here to talk about today.
For the people who are fans of my series, I wanted to post a little update to how things are going with this series. We are currently in the middle of A Dazzling Trio, and while I cannot confirm when the story will be finished, I can say that this story is not the end of this series. Not in the slightest. There are more sequels and stories I have in mind to help grow the characters we all know and love.
However...
A Dazzling Trio is also supposed to act like a stopping point. A train stop. I realize one thing about this series. This series is long. I have a lot of ideas, all of which contribute to the characters' growth and the overall storyline. However, we are over 400,000 words currently with this story, so I want to make A Dazzling Trio a stopping point. The end of the first arc, if you will. This would be a way for readers to feel like they have read a full story, and while there might be more stories later, they can stop here. Anyone who may want to stop reading after A Dazzling Trio can do so without feeling like they are missing out. Many of main story beats will be resolved in this story, so if you may not want to dedicate more of your time to a bigger series, don't worry. A Dazzling Trio will act as an end.
So what does that leave for the future?
While I can't exactly confirm what story beats will happen in the future, I can confirm that we are essentially halfway done with the original idea I had a year and a half ago. There will be some more side stories entwined with the events of this series as well as two major sequels. After that? There are a few more stories I have lined up that will take place within the same universe, but it won't take place from Adagio's point of view. Instead, a different character will act as the main POV. Essentially, this character would have 3-5 side stories to themselves before we get one final ficlet. The final ficlet would be Sundagio once more to cap off the entire series. Now, I know everything I said was confusing. That is because I am not sure of the final count of stories for this series. I don't want to tie myself down to some abstract number I may or may not reach. Let's face it. This series has always had a tendency to ruin my original plan of exact chapter numbers.
These stories that take place after A Dazzling Trio would act as two more arcs, each with their own definitive end to act as a stopping point for people who want to get off the train. The story we're on right now is going to act as the end of the first arc. I have a definitive story in mind for this whole series and honestly? I can't wait to write the end of this series. If you want an approximate guess for how long the future will be, I would say expect around 8-13 stories, most of them being fun side stories with a few major stories thrown into the mix. So, to make a timeline? I would say we can probably expect A Dazzling Trio to be finished by the middle of August. Possibly Early August. From there? I will make a few short stories that are in continuity during the fall semester before getting started on the fourth major story in November or December. Then a few more shorter stories will be released before I get to work on the fifth major story, acting as the end of the second arc. Then we would only have a few stories left until the end of the series as a whole.
In no way do I assume anyone would want to stay around for another possibly 400,000 words or more. This is an incredibly long series and I realize that it is probably longer than most readers would like. (God knows I don't like reading other series that are super long.) However, I'm making this for myself at the end of the day. To finally finish an idea I put forth a long time ago and that is something I want to do more than anything else. Therefore, I made the series split up into three main parts to soften the blow on readers. People can jump off at any of these stories, but the ends of these arcs are made to be definitive ends to their respective storylines unlike the stories that build up to these ends. That Warm Smile was a building block to A Dazzling Trio for example. If anyone does read all of my series, I will have to salute you for putting that much of your time into my passion project~

Splitting up into archs eh? You got me interested. And btw I don't mind these long chapters as I've read many good ones within the last four years I've been on this site. Including just about all the SunAdagio stories. Kinda wish or thought i did archs for my own stories when I still wrote them. But knowing that I have no plans on continuing my stories after stepping down and completing them last year aside from a few cancelled stories and focusing on my future I'd rather read stories now then make my own as tbt I often see myself as not the best fanfic writer despite many people have enjoyed my stories. Nevertheless, I can't wait to see what you plan next.

Yes, the story is being split into arcs mainly because of two reasons. The first being that I want to provide smaller experiences that my readers can jump off of at any time, not having to read the whole series to understand what is happening in a certain arc. The second reason is because MANY of the storylines introduced up to this point WILL be resolved in A Dazzling Trio. Going forward, new storylines will be made, so it only feels right to call it a new arc rather than make A Dazzling Trio lead up to these new stories. Instead, it will be treated as the end of an era for my series. I guess that means we're almost done with an arc~
Also, I completely understand the feeling that you may not be the best writer. I often feel that way myself. The only reason I keep going is because of my sheer passion for this ship I write about and the series I have created. I'm not sure if I will still be writing after the series comes to a close, but we will see. Just know that we're often our own worst enemies. While I know for a fact that I am not the best writer on this website, I also know there are quite a few people who read my stories because they love my writing. Have some confidence in yourself~

Agreed. I mainly wrote them to see what people thought on my take of Sciset, aka my favorite eqg ship, and to make my own version on how I'd picture Eqg ending, which turned out exactly how I wanted it too. Not to mention it was a collaboration with 2 fimfiction friends of mine who I also talk to via Discord. So, win-win.

That is sort of what I am doing with my series as a whole. It's my attempt to write my vision for how EQG ends, and specifically how Adagio's story line continues from Rainbow Rocks. As interesting as the EQG series was, I can't help but feel like it never lived up to the movies and I always wanted that fifth movie to cap everything off. But yeah. In a sense, my series is also explaining where EQG goes, how it ends, and the future. (You'll see what I mean by future by the third arc~) And yeah~ It is really great when writing can bring you closer to others. Mon is one of my best friends and I only ever met her through my series~
