I Updated My Profile Picture + Channel Updates Part 2 · 11:46pm May 29th, 2023

Hey, everypony! I just wanted to announce that I updated my profile picture a couple days back. Nothing too special at first. Why did I do this, you may ask? Well, the old one was looking a bit obsolete, having no background except for a black void. That didn’t bother me before when I first made my start on this site as I had nothing else to work with, but it definitely does now. Additionally, the last time I checked, Hawk was never sent to Limbo, sooooooo…yeah.

This new profile picture is actually a screencap from my upcoming G5 defense video, which I’m sure you all know about by this point. The smiling vector is actually Hawk’s default pose in the video as I think I’m working with only four vectors grabbed off of DeviantArt. Of course, I’m taking the time to credit every artist involved in the creation of all of Hawk’s poses I ended up using, so it doesn’t seem like I outright stole the drawings because the last thing I want is someone attempting to claim I stole their art maliciously. Rest assured, I didn’t. It’s just that nobody bothered to draw a Lunar Guard OC for me, so I’m using pre-created ones, including the backgrounds. Everyone will be credited accordingly.

So, there’s that. Also, more news about my YouTube channel ‘The New Lunar Republic of Equestria.’ In two or three days, the name will be dropped completely. I know, bombshell! :pinkiegasp: You may be asking why that is and that’s a completely fair question. To make a long story short, there’s four main reasons.

Reason #1: The Name Is Too Long

Yeah, you heard me right. This has been a problem across all of my other now discontinued channels and I’m kinda growing tired of it. My first channel was called ‘The Free Republic of Admiral Producer,’ the second one was called ‘The Friendship Federation of Admiral Producer,’ and my first attempt at a MLP channel was called ‘The Equestrian Civil War: World of Lunar Equestria.’ You see what I mean here? I don’t want your hands to be hurting after you type my long ass channel name into the search bar. I’ve vacillated between dropping ‘of Equestria’ or just keeping the name as is, but neither have worked.

And this leads me to my second reason.

Reason #2: Personalization

I’m going to finally achieve my dream of becoming a Brony YouTuber (though I shall consider myself separate from the mainstream negative, G5-hating fandom, of course). As part of my attempt to launch a new MLP fandom more positive or neutral towards G5, personal branding is important. Simply put, ‘The New Lunar Republic of Equestria’ just sounds too generic and it doesn’t sound like there’s any personality behind it. Nearly all of the Bronies who have graced this platform for better or for worse have had their channel name be the name of their OC. So I’m doing that too!

New Channel Name (June 1st-onwards): Hawk Nightwing!

Reason #3: Controversy

Okay, not really controversy as you’re used to hearing from this site, but I’m going to be honest. With all the debates I’ve been in, the name is officially tainted in my eyes. This is also one of the many reasons why I quit the ‘Admiral Producer’ channel several months back along with slow channel growth, poor video quality, etc. I’ve just finished humiliating The Ohvist for the second time about 4 days ago and I’m just exhausted. I figure I have to pull the ‘new name, new me’ thing that many YouTubers do and go with a more reasonable and factual approach, where I let my videos do all the talking rather than trying to take down every mindless G5 hater I see because let’s be real here, they are far too numerous. The old fandom is dead as far as I’m concerned, so that’s why I’m attempting to start anew.

I still want to keep The New Lunar Republic as a major part of the channel, however, which is why I’m going to probably highlight that my character is the ‘President of the New Lunar Republic’ or stuff like that in my description. Basically, I still want to maintain ties to my character’s close association with my upcoming Lunar Literary Universe series, which is going to launch after a Flashpoint-type continuity reset at the tail-end of the Misty Saga. So, yeah. The name change will 100% happen, but I’ll still keep mentioning ‘The New Lunar Republic of Equestria’ for branding and in-universe purposes.

Reason #4: Out With The Old, In With The New

This reason kind of brings everything full circle. I want this channel to be its own thing and separate from my previous attempts at having a YouTube career. I’ve already marketed this channel very differently to my previous ones and I know the YouTube game by this point. I know how to pull in views, pull in subs, that sort of thing. Contrary to my previous channels, I already have an established audience in you guys, whereas getting comments on my videos used to be very few and far between, save for my closest friends. I love you guys and I want to forge a community you can be proud of. I’ve already left several fandoms due to the toxicity of them all, but I’m not giving up on this fandom unlike the others. MLP is something truly special to me and I think we have something really valuable here. From the defense video onwards, both my FIMFiction and my YouTube presence will be linked in a really big way. I want to facilitate a community across both sites. If I make a video, I’ll tell you guys to check out my stories and if I make a G5 or G4 story, I’ll tell you guys to check out my channel. It’s sort of a cyclical nature.

So yeah, as Make Your Mark Chapter 4 and ‘A Passionate Defense of My Little Pony: Generation 5’ both draw near, I’m ramping things up several notches. The month of June is going to be huge for me and I can’t wait for it. Also, if I get reeeeeeeeaaaaaallly lucky, I might release The Fall of Opaline by the end of this week. I’m planning a new release schedule where nearly all Misty Saga content must be released by June 6th no matter what (considering Ch 4 is supposed to culminate with Opaline’s defeat and I want to be ahead of Hasbro for obvious reasons). I’ll be done with my Math final on the 31st, so then I can dive headfirst into Redeemed and hopefully finish them both by the big day!! This is certainly going to be a fun ride and I can’t wait to see how it goes for all of us.

With that being said, I will see you all very soon. Bye!

I wish you the best of luck with your defending G5 video. I plan to watch it when it’s uploaded.

Thanks! I really appreciate that. I hope it exceeds your expectations.

I heard that chapter 4 is actually six episodes. That makes me feel less concerned about you know what.

Yeah, that definitely is a relief. The moment I heard that, all my doubts were gone. The staff can easily pull off the conclusion to the Opaline arc the right way now. Plus, it gives me more to talk about as I am adding a section entirely devoted to Chapter 4 into my defense video. Don’t be surprised if it ends up being the length of the Snyder Cut by the time I’m done.

What I’m hoping to see at some point in the future of G5 is to meet Sunny’s mother (and maybe also Pipp and Zipp’s father).
