Odium continued to rage beneath her, struggling to bend his limbs at the awkward angles needed to get to the mare on his back. A claw scraped past her hooves, leaving behind a thin streak of blood. Twilight winced at the pain, allowing for the device to slip from her teeth. She plunged her head down again, feeling for the small chip.

“You really think tearing it out will do any good?” Void’s laughter boomed from all around.

“You’ll kill him if you try!”

Crunch.

Odium went limp.

Twilight, still panting, stepped off of him. She wiped the spit from her mouth. “Hey, Void? What do you think I am?”

Nothing came over the intercom. A thin smile formed on the mare’s face as she limped to a corner, her breaths finally growing a little slower. “Lemme tell you this, Void. I’ve… been human before. Been to the human worl—” She coughed. “—before. I’ve met… horses before. Me… I’m… not a horse. Us Equestrian ponies?” She let out a ragged chuckle, lifting her head to the camera peering down at them with a wide, toothy grin. “We’re omnivores.”

She collapsed, unconscious. A thin line of smoke curled from the pierced transmitter attached to Odium.

originally, this came from a write-this-in-your-own-style challenge I did (in particular, rewriting a scene from one of Heroic's unpublished fics, which was an MLP x SPoP story with one of Heroic's own OCs, Odium, thrown into the mix), but man.

Slingin' a beat-up Twilight utilizing a little-known fact about Equine biology (being that some, though not necessarily all, have canine teeth, and will eat meat on rare occasions if the amount of protein in their diet is insufficient) to gain an unexpected advantage in a fight goes hard.
