The Best Night Ever, the twenty sixth episode of Season One was originally aired on May 6, 2011.

In this episode, Twilight Sparkle and her friends attend the Grand Galloping Gala, but none of their experiences meet their expectations, much to their disappointment.

It also features the songs At the Gala, a sound-alike for Stephen Sondheim's "Ever After", I'm at the Grand Galloping Gala, an altered version of the popular birthday song, "For He's A Jolly Good Fellow" and Pony Pokey, one of many variations of "Hokey Pokey" or "Hokey Cokey".

• Some additional songs were written for the episode, but they were cut for time.
• The designs of the "fancy band" Pinkie Pie spots on stage are later used in Luna Eclipsed, wearing scarecrow costumes and colored differently.
• Pinkie Pie's Piggy Dance song was originally intended for this episode, but was cut off due to time.
