So! Back. Not dead. Big surprise. Life's been kinda hectic for awhile now for a variety of reasons I won't go too much into, but I've had a nice long break and am feeling ready to get back to a semi-regular writing schedule! However, I have still been doing art for the past,,, six months, has it really been that long? Jeez. So, here's a big ol' pile of stuff that I haven't shared here, by month.

Nothing like a hard day’s work to get up an appetite.
tbh, this might be one of the best things I’ve ever drawn in terms of anatomy and shading.

Hey all,
Apologies for the lack of updates these past few months. This semester has been kicking my butt and my final essays have been draining me of the will to write anything else. I'm really hoping to get back into The Sunset Archives in May -- I know what I'm doing with the story, I just haven't been able to muster the will to get it down on paper.

That said, I have been able to funnel my creativity into art over these past few months, and so here's a sampling of some of my favorites.

TARDIS interior design! Perspective on round things is a nightmare, but I think I managed this pretty well.

A brief explanation of what this is:

  1. I have made a project of eventually drawing something for every Doctor Who TV episode and novel
  2. Regrettably, this includes Combat Rock, which I refuse to read because it is considered to be among the most racist and sexist Doctor Who books as well as the worst-written, but which I also refused to skip drawing for the sake of completion.
  3. I watched a Drawfee video where they made art based only on the first and last lines of a book.

So, here is my piece for Combat Rock, which consists, as far as I’m concerned, of the following:
“‘Where is the man?’
Clown got up from the chair and moved to the balcony, just in time to see the last of the sunset.”
The End.

The Devil - Annabelle Cane in Thought for the Day

TARDIS Tarot
5 of Wands - Steven Taylor in Galaxy 4

TMA Tarot
The Emperor - Tim Stoker in Stranger & Stranger

The Twelfth Doctor and Bill Potts in Thin Ice

The final scenes of Patrick Troughton’s Sleep No More from the excellent Doctor Who podcast Time Ram, where every episode sees the hosts mash up a randomly selected Doctor with a randomly selected Doctor Who story. It's always a great time, and I can't recommend it highly enough.

Looking forward to overcoming this writer's block and getting back into The Sunset Archives soon!
