    Life is Happening

    Hi, y’all.

I am writing this from my bed. I had my wisdom teeth removed today, so I have a mouthful of gauze, I’m bleeding, and I can’t feel my tongue nor my lips. I’m taking a break from attempting to eat popsicles without sucking on them to avoid dry socket. Do y’all know how hard it is not to suck on a popsicle? It’s really hard.

    More Slices of Life?

Okay y’all, I have an important question: What do you guys like better, my short stories or my longer works? What would you like to see more of?

You Asked, So You Have Received

    My dearest readers,

A few weeks ago, I asked if y’all would be interested in reading a second PLAOFW. Many of you said that you would. I heard you, and I delivered.

The new anthology that I am working on contains stories of foals that Luna escorts to the afterlife. These are the saddest stories in my opinion for a few obvious reasons:

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to share a bit of my inspiration behind Edelweiss’ story, even though the story itself is on hiatus and will stay that way for a while. I am a classically trained singer and certified musical theatre nerd, and The Sound of Music is my favorite musical of all time. If you haven’t seen the movie, go rethink your life and watch it as soon as possible—the 1965 movie, not the shitty live remake with Carrie Underwood. Consider this classic to be required viewing.

Anyway, as I wrote DOTN, I kept wondering what Neoma’s daughter’s name would be, then it dawned on me: Edelweiss. The song of the same title has always been my favorite piece from the musical, and the word itself just sounds so pretty to me. The title of this story actually comes from the song’s lyrics:

“Blossom of snow,
May you bloom and grow,
Bloom and grow forever.
Edelweiss, edelweiss,
Bless my homeland forever.”

Just thought I’d pop in and share my inspiration. Carry on, have a great day.

With love,

Drunk Luna
